Chapter 1062

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1062:

? ? ? ? ?

A chill ran down Raegan's spine as she recalled the disturbing encounter with Davey at the wedding. His piercing gaze seemed to pierce through her, leaving her feeling exposed and vulnerable. Her initial concern centered on whether her mother's disappearance was connected to the enigmatic Davey.

Stefan harbored similar suspicions. But while Davey was a plausible suspect, the lack of concrete evidence of Casey's existence around him left room for doubt.

There was some speculation about Davey's personal life revolving around Aurora, but one thing was certain. He kept his private affairs well guarded. He was not associated with any female company, either at home or anywhere else.

The whispers hinted at Davey's indifference to women, hinting at an alternative inclination toward men.

Truth be told, she was an anomaly in Aurora's patriarchal society.

Davey, however, remained impervious to such gossip, shrugging off speculation about his sexual preferences. Women who dared approach him were met with coldness, dissuading them from trying any further.

However, another theory emerged among the rumor mill. It said that Davey's reluctance to pursue relationships was not due to disinterest, but to a lingering attachment to a woman from his past, a haunting presence that kept him from seeking companionship or marriage for years on end.

Stefan leaned in, his voice low but serious. “I'll look into this. Davey's a strange guy. Raegan, stay away from him, got it? No private chats.”

Raegan nodded with a soft, “I understand.”

With kids on the way, Raegan wasn't about to chase trouble. Just thinking about Davey sent shivers down her spine, a feeling she'd rather do without.

If it was true that Davey was involved in her mother's disappearance, she hoped Erick would find out. Confronting Davey herself would only make things worse for Erick.

Raegan wasn't stupid enough to take the risk. If Davey was connected to her mother's disappearance, talking to him could mean walking right into a trap. It would only sabotage the chance to rescue Casey and make Erick's job harder.

Raegan understood exactly what was at stake, even without Stefan having to explain it to her.

After dinner, he stayed by Erick's bed, who remained motionless and silent under the weight of the anesthesia.

When it got late, Stefan gently encouraged her to retire for the night.

After a while, Raegan reluctantly gave in. After all, she knew full well that rest was essential for expectant mothers.

With Stefan watching over Erick, Raegan found comfort in knowing that everything was as it should be.

Back in her room, sleep eluded her. She picked up her phone, intending to drown out her thoughts with the soothing hum of audiobooks.

In his disgust, he clicked on something else and stumbled upon a news app. The news he received was about the elusive CEO of the Dixon Group, Mitchel Dixon, who had been absent from the public eye for days.

Reports emerged of his clandestine visit to a rehabilitation center, sparking speculation about the state of his empire.

The Dixon Group quickly issued a statement clarifying that Mitchell sought medical attention for sleep-related issues.

In their statement, they highlighted the strong leadership of CEO Mitchel Dixon and Acting Vice President Hector Dixon, ensuring the smooth running of the company. The media was implored to refrain from gossip and focus on the company's productivity rather than Mitchel's private affairs.

In a news clip, Mitchel is seen in the hospital.

Even through the lens of the media, his weight loss was evident. His jawline looked more sculpted than ever, although his complexion remained pale.
