Chapter 1060
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

But Erick arrived five minutes late. If he had at least arrived earlier, Jimena could have spilled the beans.
As Davey watched from the window, Erick had entered Jimena's apartment.
Davey then remembered the young man from Raegan's wedding, whom he had later investigated. It turned out that the young man, Bryce, was Hector's son, despite bearing no resemblance.
Hector's name left a bitter taste on Davey's tongue. Hector had once been his greatest rival in love, deeply in love with Casey. But what had love really accomplished? In the end, Hector had fathered a child with another woman.
Davey couldn't help but wonder how Casey would react to the news.
Casey, always with her naive belief that the outside world held something better, that every man out there was pure goodness, didn't see that in this harsh reality, only he truly loved her.
To Davey, other men's declarations of love were nothing more than hollow echoes, mere jokes.
Inside the villa, Raegan's heart was pounding with anticipation as she waited for news from Erick.
The slightest hint of any progress regarding her mother's whereabouts would lift her spirits. It would nourish her hope of being reunited with her long-lost mother.
Even her unborn children seemed to share her excitement, dancing restlessly in her womb that afternoon.
Raegan settled back on the couch and gently stroked her swollen belly. âYou want to meet your grandma too, don't you little ones?â she murmured softly.
Suddenly, the tranquility of the moment was interrupted by a commotion in the hallway.
Erick was being carried away by his assistant and Judd, his face pale, his body clean, and his lips bloodless.
Raegan ran to his side, her voice shaking with fear. âErick, what happened to you?â
But Erick still didn't respond, his eyes closed in pain.
Seeing Erick's bloody shoulder, clearly from a gunshot wound, Raegan's heart sank.
Stefan, who was following behind with a team of doctors, ordered Judd to take Erick to a makeshift operating room in the downstairs guest room.
Fortunately, Stefan's experience in such matters was of great help. The room had been meticulously equipped with a wide range of medical equipment, mitigating any risk of contamination.
As Erick was led away, Raegan's anxiety threatened to overwhelm her. She turned to Stefan, her eyes red and her voice shaking. âStefan, how could this happen?â
Erick had left at noon in good condition, only to return in such dire straits.
Stefan, noticing Raegan's paleness, didn't respond immediately. Instead, he gently guided her to the couch as he tried to find the right words. âShe went to that doctor's apartment, but she didn't find anything. Not a soul. As she was leaving, she ran into a burglar and a fight broke out.â
Hearing this, Raegan struggled to understand the coincidence. It seemed unlikely that such a confrontation would occur in Aurora, where the divide between privileged and commoners was glaring. A thief against someone of Erick's stature seemed highly unlikely.
Erick's attire and the luxurious means of transportation he used were unmistakable signs of his opulence. He wondered why a mere petty thief would dare to challenge someone so obviously superior to him.
Raegan's eyes filled with tears as she spoke, her voice cracking with emotion. "I refuse to believe it, Stefan. Is someone trying to kill Erick? Just when we were about to find our mother, this happens. It can't just be a coincidence."
