Chapter 1056:

"Yes sir. "I found him during one of the exams I did on him."
Jimena elaborated: «I found the design exceptionally beautiful, which prompted me to take a photograph with the intention of recreating it for her later. However, when I saw that she was embroidering the same design, I became curious and made a comment. "It was then that she told me to give her embroidery to the newlywed."
"Why did you decide not to give it to him?" Davey looked bewildered. "You had already mentioned his threats, why was it different in this case?"
"Because I couldn't betray his trust..." As she said these words, Jimena glanced at Davey and saw that his attitude had not changed, which reassured her.
You've always been kind to me. I understand the value of reciprocating good will. Although I lack the means to challenge it openly, I have made the clandestine decision not to abide by it.
With a pleading look, Jimena emphasized: "Sir, my loyalty to you is unwavering, regardless of the circumstances."
This statement seemed to have less to do with genuine loyalty and more to do with employing a tactical decoy, cautious scouting.
Despite his forties, Davey's constant exercise routine gave him the look of someone at least ten years younger.
Even his countenance exuded the captivating charm usually associated with a man in his thirties. In every way, he defied the expectations of a forty-year-old.
The truly well-off people avoided aesthetic improvements. His youth lasted and lingered far beyond the reach of ordinary people. This state of confidence was fueled by a disciplined lifestyle.
From Jimena's initial apprehension upon meeting Davey, to later discovering his unwavering commitment to a woman, a flutter stirred in her heart.
Jimena envied Davey's unwavering adoration for Casey, and felt that Casey might not fully understand her good fortune. Casey hesitated to embrace a man of such excellence who loved her and contemplated running away instead.
For Jimena, how was it possible that there was another man as remarkable as Davey, who loved a woman with such deep devotion? Wasn't it the luckiest thing in the world to be loved by a man like him? However, inexplicably, Casey felt the urge to flee, apparently without appreciating it at all...
Jimena's envy and jealousy remained confined to her heart. However, these hidden emotions kept swelling, growing with each passing day. To her, a man like Davey was undeniably irresistible. Because of his behavior, his appearance, his strength and his skills, he was an elite among elites, a rare talent that was very difficult to find.
Jimena's frequent visits to Davey's mansion in recent months had served to intensify her fantasies. If she could become the mistress of that splendid mansion, or even just be at Davey's side, she would gladly do so.
In Aurora's wealthy circles, it was common for individuals to have multiple wives and concubines, but Davey remained devoted to just one: Casey.
Sometimes Jimena fantasized about the idea that Davey would be interested in her.
But when love blinded a woman, reason usually faltered. And now, Jimena was thinking about seducing Davey. Unaware of the imminent danger, he insisted on approaching the edge of a cliff, risking his life and limb.
Davey paid little attention to his advances. After all, each of his subordinates behaved similarly and none of them would dare betray him.
"What benefits did he offer you?" Davey asked.
Jimena hesitated for a moment, steeling herself. Slowly, she took off her coat, revealing her delicate shoulders, her elegant evening dress, and the dazzling sapphire pendant adorning her neck.
"He gave me the sapphire pendant that you had given him, and he also mentioned..." Jimena paused, purposely hiding the rest, as if it were too embarrassing for her to say.
"Go on," Davey told him evenly, showing no emotion.
"He stated that everything you had given him was repulsive and expressed his desire to get rid of it all, since none of it was attractive to him. "He ordered me to take it off quickly so he wouldn't see it."
