Chapter 1052

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1052:

? ? ? ? ?

It was not clear whether he was referring to the begonias or Casey herself.

Casey didn't respond to his comment, maintaining her typical nonchalant attitude in his presence. His moments of melancholy outweighed his moments of joy.

“Casey, are you feeling sick?” Davey asked, staring.

“The butler mentioned that you ordered water with brown sugar.”

Casey couldn't discern the reasons for his question, but she understood that he approached each of his inquiries with caution. It was too easy to fall into their traps.

When he wanted to avoid direct answers, his default tactic of unreasonable irritability served him well.

"The butler isn't a 'butler,' is he?" he snapped.

Amused, Davey raised an eyebrow, genuinely intrigued by her response.

«I could also be your spy, watching my every move. 'Surveillance' would suit him better." Casey replied with biting sarcasm. «Does every detail of my life seem so fascinating to you? What do I eat, drink, even when I go to the bathroom? Next time I will report directly to you. "Why bother with a middleman?"

His tone dripped with deliberate petulance, cleverly masking his true emotions under a veneer of annoyance.

A shadow passed over Davey's eyes. Something big was at stake for Casey to inadvertently reveal her brown sugar water consumption. But what could it be?

Davey's thoughts turned to the newlywed Raegan, realizing that, other than her, nothing else seemed important enough to have distracted Casey to this point.

Casey skillfully portrayed a character with a fragmented memory, almost convincing even him.

Alternatively, he refrained from breaking her illusion as long as it brought him satisfaction. However, his leniency did not amount to giving him the opportunity to flee.

As usual, Davey responded with a smile, “If it bothers you, I will order him to stop reporting. "I simply wanted to show greater concern for you."

Casey understood Davey enough to discern his cutting behavior and rapid shifts toward distancing, especially in intimate moments, which invariably left her at a disadvantage.

Watching their sexual relations made his stomach turn. A man over forty years old, still fiercely entrenched in his ways. However, it was not too tiring to repeat and analyze various strategies.

Feigning shyness, Casey commented, "Don't make promises you won't keep. "Don't pretend to be worried."

Davey settled down next to her, wrapped her in a hug, and planted a kiss on her forehead, saying, "When have I ever broken my word?"

“You promised to take me out to play,” Casey replied, playing the role of the naïve girl with surprising authenticity.

In reality, her emotional development barely exceeded that of a child. Having endured half her life under Davey's confinement, trapped and often unconscious, she had not been allowed to mature.

Deep down, Casey was clinging to a shred of innocence, believing she could outsmart Davey.

Davey playfully pinched her waist, mockingly, "So much fuss over such a trivial matter?"

Casey shifted uncomfortably, avoiding his touch. "Do not touch me. I know perfectly well that I have no right to be angry. You don't need to remind me, Mr. Glyn. He spoke with a hint of sarcasm evident in his tone.
