Chapter 1049

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1049:

? ? ? ? ?

Jimena had immersed herself in the world of the rich. He had already realized that, for those accustomed to wealth, sincere intentions were more important than any amount of money.

Noticing Casey's hesitation, Jimena subtly made a soft, pained sound, a gentle nudge to remind him of her plan.

Meanwhile, the butler meticulously attended to the security of the estate, deploying detection devices with a vigilance that bordered on paranoia. Each guest was subjected to a rigorous double control, a technological scan followed by a manual search.

"Are you okay, Jimena?" the butler asked, in a voice of genuine concern.

Realizing it was her signal, Casey knew she had to act quickly to ensure Jimena's escape. «Aldwin, can you come for a moment?

Distracted, the butler put aside the detector and walked down the stairs, his steps echoing the urgency in Casey's voice.

With practiced ease, Jimena slipped away unnoticed, bypassing the security gate without a second glance.

Once outside, Jimena slid to the Glyn family car and told the driver to head to the clinic.

When the vehicle started moving, Jimena felt a barely contained emotion inside the moving car. If she hadn't been so exposed, she would have reveled in the victory of obtaining the necklace, a treasure that was now tantalizingly close, but still out of reach.

In the car, Jimena couldn't contain her joyful smile, even with her eyes closed. It was as if all his thoughts of joy came flooding out at once. This bubbling excitement did not go unnoticed by the man sitting in the shadowy vehicle next to her.

Davey, who had just returned home, found himself alone in the car after the driver left, giving him a moment of respite to rest his tired eyes.

To any casual observer, the car might have appeared deserted.

But just as Davey was about to leave, he saw Jimena getting into the car with a greedy smile.

Jimena used to be very modest, she never missed a smile, especially at home. But here he was, just outside the doors, smiling like a cat with a bowl of cream.

Davey was an astute judge of character, and could tell at a glance that it was no ordinary smile. It was a smile fueled by something darker, something more sinister than simple happiness. It was a stark contrast to the GP's typical reserved expression.

Seeing the car disappear from sight, Davey made a call. "Follow Jimena's vehicle and inform me."

It had been a long day for Davey, dealing with various matters that had left him in a bad mood.

Additionally, it had received a report about an incident at one of its overseas properties.

According to the guards, the culprit had been nothing more than a drunken vagabond who, upon stumbling upon one of their lavish mansions, had tried to enter through a window in search of shelter. Once inside, he had wandered around marveling at the opulence that surrounded him.

Upon discovering this, the guards showed no mercy to the drunken vagabond. They dealt with him quickly, without alerting authorities, following Davey's instructions. They gave him a good beating and threw him into the river, leaving no trace of their intrusion.

It was difficult for the guards to figure out the drunken vagabond's true intentions. At first glance, it seemed like a simple case of drunkenness and wandering. Even several eyewitnesses corroborated that he was getting drunk in the park.

However, Davey couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to this incident than met the eye. Something about the drunken tramp's actions didn't add up.

Furthermore, how could a mere drunken vagabond surpass six of his carefully selected and highly trained elite guards? And not just breaching the perimeter, but wandering unchecked for who knew how long? Davey mused, frowning. These guards were the best he had chosen, meticulously selected for their skills and loyalty. Was this drunken bum really what he seemed, or was there more to him than met the eye?
