Chapter 1047

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1047:

? ? ? ? ?

With the flash of a particular necklace, she could dazzle anyone, her brilliance enough to make her a beacon at any high society gathering.

When Jimena described the necklace, a flash of recognition flashed through Casey's memory. So it was the blue diamond shining like a piece of the night sky captured in glass.

«Jimena, whatever I offer you will be yours. And if it falls short, I'm willing to write a check for a hundred million," Casey said, her voice serious and promising.

Jewelry had never held much appeal for Casey, no matter how mundane it was to her. She knew that Jimena had a lot at stake, that she risked much more than she could gain by helping her. She was willing to pay Jimena more, much more. However, she was tormented by the fear that Davey would discover the necklace was missing. The consequences for Jimena could be dire.

Jimena's face contorted into a mask of disgust. «If you are so attached to that necklace, forget I mentioned anything. "I'm not going to risk my neck for you," he snapped bitterly.

Jimena picked up the first aid kit, closed the clasp with a final snap, and turned to leave. Before leaving, he gave a warning over his shoulder. Remember, if Davey finds out about any of this, I'll make sure he knows everything you've been up to. Including today's little proposition.

Jimena's façade of loyalty crumbled, revealing her true intentions. He had gained enough information from their conversation to ensure his own safety, he no longer needed to pretend.

However, the charm of the necklace was undeniable. Jimena stood at the door, shuffling her feet slightly, secretly hoping that Casey would call her again.

And Casey did it. "Jimena..."

Jimena stopped, half turned, with an unreadable mask expression. "It's not that I'm not willing," Casey hastened to explain. «It's just that I'm terrified that Davey will discover the absence. "It could put you in serious danger."

Jimena scoffed. "With the horde of jewels you have, do you really think he would notice that only one is missing?"

Jimena's impatience was palpable as she stood with her arms crossed and her eyes fixed on Casey. «So what is it going to be? Yes or no? If not, I might get nervous around Davey. And who knows what he could release.

It was a thinly veiled threat, leaving Casey pale and trembling.

In all these years, Casey had barely touched the world, except in fleeting encounters. Aside from a silent maid tidying up his room, his most frequent interaction was with Jimena.

At first glance, Jimena seemed kind and reserved. But beneath that facade hid a skillful changer of characters. Casey had always assumed Jimena was a harmless soul and never imagined her capable of such quick deception.

If it was just a botched negotiation, Casey could handle it. I would find another route, another plan. Even with a 50% chance of Davey finding out the truth, he couldn't risk Jimena's safety for a trinket. However, there was Jimena, threatening her with a blatant "take it or leave it."

Gritting her teeth, Casey relented. "Okay, I'll give it to you."

Jimena's face lit up with joy, transforming once again, this time into a facade of gratitude. "You're very kind. Since it is gathering dust in your possession, why don't you let me safeguard it for a while?

A knot twisted in Casey's gut as he saw Jimena's delighted expression.

Jimena clicked impatiently: «Madam, the safe. Fast".

The treasures were inside a glass safe, protected by iris scanners and passwords.

On one occasion, Casey had accidentally left it open, allowing Jimena to take a look and even try on the necklace.

The security of the Glynn family was formidable. Without the special anti-metal detection bag, removing the necklace without being detected would be almost impossible. And without Casey's cooperation, it would surely lead to his discovery. Otherwise, Jimena wouldn't have waited so long to make her move.

As Casey hesitated at the safe, Jimena suddenly grabbed her and pressed her face against the cabinet, demanding that she open it with the iris check.
