Chapter 1034

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1034:

? ? ? ? ?

Mitchel's gaze fell on her stomach, unfocused. «How are you then? Are the babies okay?

It had been a long time since they had a quiet talk like that, in which they both shared the conversation.

Raegan fought her sadness. "We're ok. "The babies are pretty calm and don't kick much."

"Do they kick?" Mitchel showed interest. "Oh really?" When Raegan was pregnant, he hadn't been around, so he didn't know the babies' movements.

"Yes, they can be quite naughty sometimes," Raegan commented. At this moment, his belly moved out slightly.

Mitchel watched her, fascinated. «Are they kicking you?

"Yeah. Raegan noticed that Mitchel's eyes were shining and asked softly, "Would you like to feel them?"

Mitchel's deep black eyes lit up noticeably. "Will you allow me?"

"Of course, you're the father," Raegan replied.

Hearing this, Mitchel felt an unexpected sadness instead of joy, sensing that Raegan was moving further and further away from him. His casual mention of children suggested that he had already made up his mind.

His deep inky black eyes changed to a softer gray and his hands moved instinctively to tenderly touch Raegan's belly.

The babies responded by kicking his hand firmly.

Mitchell was surprised. It was his first encounter with the miracle of life. It was really incredible. His lineage would live in that little womb, connecting him and Raegan.

“Raegan, let me stay. “I want to be here to see our children born,” he implored in a low voice. «I won't bother you. Please don't kick me out."

Raegan closed her eyes, her heart clenching with pain. He couldn't let Mitchel risk amputation knowing that he still had a lot of life ahead of him.

She looked at him intently and said, "Mitchel, you're the father, there's no doubt about that, but..."

Mitchel prepared himself for the painful words that would follow that "but."

Raegan continued: "I'm married now. I have my own life. If you stay, there will be misunderstandings with my husband. "I don't want my love to get the wrong idea."

Raegan snuggled into the coat, seeking comfort in its warmth. Her address to Stefan had changed from his first name to "my love."

It was an echo of how he once affectionately called Mitchel. He conveyed that everything had changed and that there was no turning back.

Raegan added: "The memories we make together seem to last a lifetime, but since it's not convenient, separating is the right decision. Now, I'm looking for a simple life with Stefan. Can you understand it?

Mitchel's lips tightened, and the shine in his eyes gradually faded.

Raegan realized that she had understood the meaning of his words. In time he would understand.

"I hope you understand me." He stood, staring at the sunlight streaming through the window, then looked down. «When the centenary celebration of our babies arrives, I will invite you. Mitchel, return to Ardlens for your treatment. There the climate will be better for you.
