Chapter 1027:

Meanwhile, a black SUV was leaving the park.
The sound of the engine starting up was quite loud, causing Raegan to instinctively turn her head to look, but the dark tint on the windows blocked her view. However, she couldn't shake the nagging feeling that something wasn't quite right, as if eyes had been watching her.
âRaegan?â Stefan called her twice to get her attention.
"That? Raegan responded.
Stefan smiled. âWhat were you thinking?â
"Not at all."
The air was getting colder, and Raegan rubbed her arms. "Stefan, let's go back."
In Raegan's eyes, Stefan was like an older brother. He addressed him with the same naturalness with which he would address his brother. Thus, the word "let's go" came out effortlessly.
A soft smile appeared in Stefan's eyes as he gently suggested, "Okay, let's go home."
In the black SUV, Mitchel's handsome face was expressionless, cold as ice.
The driver in the front seat sensed the cold atmosphere and asked cautiously, "Mr. Dixon, where are we going now?"
"Back at the hotel," Mitchel replied dryly.
The driver breathed a sigh of relief, glad that the tense day was over.
The driver had been working for Mitchel for a week. His mission was to specifically guard the entrance of the Clifford family mansion from morning to night, and another person was in charge at night.
Today they had ventured out, following Stefan's car to the park for a walk.
The driver was perplexed why Mitchel insisted on watching the young couple's romance and yet seemed so irritated by it. Why bother following them in the first place?
On the way back, Raegan fell asleep. Probably due to the advanced stage of her pregnancy, she often felt exceptionally sleepy.
Upon reaching his destination, Stefan parked the car carefully.
Not wanting to disturb her, he watched Raegan sleeping. He gently adjusted the back of her seat, pulled the blanket up on her lap a little higher, and turned down the air conditioning to make sure she could sleep as comfortably as possible.
Once everything was ready, he sat down and silently admired her peaceful expression.
Raegan was sleeping soundly, her cheeks rosy from the cozy air, presenting a lovely sight.
Watching her with a smile, Stefan felt a relaxing sense of peace wash over him, simply by being in her presence. Suddenly he understood what family could mean. Although their situation was nothing more than a show, at that moment he truly wished that they were a real family.
Raegan continued to sleep soundly for more than four hours, from dusk until the stars faded into the night.
When she stretched out of habit, she lowered her hand and found a void that startled her awake. It was then that he realized he was still inside the car.
