Stefan and Erick laughed, their giggles filling the air.
"Come on." With a warm smile, Stefan offered his arm to Raegan, and together they walked toward the gathered guests, a united front.
Raegan looked around and saw some familiar Aurora faces.
Since it was a fake wedding, and taking into account the delicate circumstances, the guest list had been limited to only Aurora's.
However, Hector, a Clifford family partner in their overseas business, was a notable exception among the guests.
Noticing Raegan's unease, Stefan offered her a reassuring touch, gently stroking the back of her hand. "Stay close to me."
Fortunately, the toast ceremony soon came to an end.
Stefan used Raegan's tiredness as an excuse to take her to rest.
As they approached the exit, a deep voice unexpectedly rang out. "Is the bride leaving so soon?"
Raegan's gaze met the man's, whose gelled hair revealed a mature face with strong, serious features that gave off a firm, reassuring presence. Despite his middle-aged appearance, he carried himself with a refined and sophisticated air that attracted attention.
Resplendent in a suit of bright red velvet, the luxurious fabric shimmered in the light, but she carried it with a quiet confidence that hid any hint of ostentation or impropriety, as if she had been born to wear such vibrant splendor.
The man's gaze met Raegan's and held it for a moment.
Raegan's mind reeled and she instinctively took a step back.
Luckily, Stefan was quick to react, grabbing Raegan by the elbow and steadying her before she could stumble.
However, the brief disturbance did not go unnoticed by the man before them.
The man's lips curved into a subtle, enigmatic smile as he asked, "Miss Foster, do you remember who I am?"
His tone was calm, but it exerted a palpable pressure, like a gentle but insistent probing that demanded a response.
Raegan's body shook with a subtle tremor and her face instantly lost color, becoming pale and wet. A feeling of dread came over her.
But recognizing that his reaction was disproportionate, he quickly composed himself and took a deep breath before speaking. «Sir, I don't really know you. "I must have sprained my ankle."
However, the man's penetrating gaze stopped and his deep voice asked, "Miss Foster, why do you look so scared?"
His penetrating, icy gaze seemed to fixate on her, with an intensity imbued with a subtle and disturbing threat.
Raegan's heart raced and panic gripped her as she struggled to resist the intensity of his penetrating gaze.
Davey, Raegan's concern comes not from your fear, but from the harsh Aurora climate, which she is not used to. Their homeland, Ambrosia, has a much more temperate environment.
"Oh really?" Davey's skepticism shone through his tone, however, and he chose to let the matter rest, forgoing further questioning.
