Chapter 1005
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1005:
? ? ? ? ?
Erick simply wanted Raegan to be happy. Since she still had feelings for Mitchel, he refrained from rushing her into any relationship or marriage. Even if she didn't remarry, with him, her father, and his children soon arriving to take care of her, she wouldn't be in trouble.
"Alright. It is a mutually beneficial agreement. Stefan wants to leave the Clifford family registry and start his own company. The first requirement is marriage, otherwise your father will not release the necessary documents.â Erick reassured her: âYou already know him. "He wouldn't want to hurt anyone without a real attachment, and this situation helps him."
Raegan nodded. "If Stefan finds someone he cares about in the future, and if she is bothered by our past, I will certainly help clear things up."
Eric nodded his head.
Raegan stared at the window, deep in thought. «Erick, do you really think that this time we will be able to find our mother?»
Erick looked down. "Don't worry. We will find her.
Raegan had to fake a marriage with Stefan because Erick discovered that the criminal who attempted on Raegan's life at the International Banquet Center had ties to Aurora. However, the criminal was not related to the Maxwell family and lacked the Maxwell family clan tattoo.
In the month since Raegan's return, the mastermind had made more assassination attempts on her. The determination to take down Raegan was evident.
Erick's investigations confirmed that those killers had no ties to the Maxwell family, and the previous reward for Raegan had long since been revoked. So who was trying to kill Raegan so badly?
Just when Erick was feeling lost, Stefan reported that the special herb that Erick had tasked him with guarding had been purchased. The buyer, however, disappeared without a trace in Ardlens.
Erick was restless. That herb, Angelica Sinensis, was a signal agreed upon between him, Raegan and Casey, used whenever they encountered difficulties to indicate that they were safe for the moment.
Now, only that herb had been purchased, and it was the agreed upon six grams. Six grams barely covered a single decoction, clearly Casey's way of saying she was alive and in Aurora.
Erick was eager to fly immediately to Ardlens to investigate himself, but there were complications. Landen's health was deteriorating and Raegan was only two months away from giving birth.
Plus, with the continued threat of assassins, leaving Raegan's side even briefly was risky.
However, losing this clue to Casey's whereabouts could mean missing the opportunity forever.
The individual responsible for Casey's disappearance was incredibly cunning and left no trace. Without this grass lead, they would have no clues to trace Casey's whereabouts. Staying in Swynborough meant risking missing another signal from Casey.
At this critical moment, Stefan suggested a strategic plan. Given the constant threat of assassins against Raegan, making her presence public in Aurora seemed like a wise choice. By joining the Clifford family, Raegan would be under the protection of one of Aurora's toughest clans, where natural-born assassins would hesitate to attack.
The Clifford family was famous for their tight security. No outsider could enter easily.
Those assassins couldn't break into the Clifford family mansion to harm Raegan, and once they found out she was joining the Clifford family, that would cue Casey to contact them somehow.
Plus, as Stefan's brother-in-law, Erick could stay in Aurora to secretly investigate Casey's situation and find out who was after Raegan.
Meanwhile, Stefan would achieve his goal of establishing himself through this marriage, severing his ties as heir to the Clifford family and gaining the independence he desired.
It was a triple win-win situation.
Erick thought about it and came to the conclusion that, indeed, this was his best option for the moment. This plan would ensure Raegan's safety and possibly help them locate Casey.
When Erick explained the plan, Raegan gladly agreed, not wanting her brother to have to worry about his safety on top of everything else. And with possible clues about their mother, they could finally locate her. It was wonderful.
Stefan then falsely stated that he and Raegan had already been married in Alcyone, under the witness of a priest, and that a wedding would take place in Aurora before Raegan's due date.
