Chapter 4

Ezet was so shocked that she held her breath for a while but only managed to release it when her eyes became hazy. Her heart fluttered, and a chill went down her spine.

If someone asked if she is okay, she’ll grab them by the collar and ask. Do I look okay to you?

Unlike the Ezet, however, the horseman calmly drove the carriage. The horses also ran at a steady speed without running wild in surprise and seemed familiar with the garden, which appeared to be a mix of Amazon and Savannah.

Erit said. She couldn’t get out of the Duchy.

Ezet thought it was because of a contract that ‘unless it is necessary, she would not meet outsiders.’

But it wasn’t. ‘No, I’m getting out of here!’

There seemed to be no exit door.

A pterodactyl flies up through those tall trees and says, “Give me your head, human!”

As she felt good when she managed to escape the screaming forest, a large strange castle appeared.

It was the Duchess’s residence.

No one came out to meet her. There were no butlers, no servants, no maids.

What is this place?

Instead of looking around the driver in embarrassment, the horseman, who was organizing the reins, pointed to the floor with a “woo” sound.

‘Oh, all the servants are mute.’

Ezet looked in the direction pointed by the horseman. The floor was lined with shiny, fluorescent, green arrows along the road.

‘Are you asking me to follow the arrow? What kind of emergency exit is that?’

The fluorescent green arrow stole the eye by showing off its more significant presence as it was getting darker. Ezet followed the arrow up the stairs and reached the hallway.

At first glance, she could see a massive door that seemed to be the Duchess’s bedroom. The problem is that the door didn’t have a doorknob.

“How do I open it?”

—Beep! Put your hands on the recognizer.

“Oh, my gosh!”

—Place your hand on the recognizer.

“What is it? Is there a sound coming from this door?”

—Place your hand on the recognizer.

“Amazing. Does this work with mana?”

—If you don’t put your hand on the recognizer in 10 seconds, we will consider you an intruder and be attacked.

“What? What the hell are you talking about!”

—10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3…….

“Oh, okay! I got it!”

At the center of the door, the hand’s shape shining in fluorescent light green seemed to be a recognizer. Ezet put her hand in a hurry.

—Fingerprint registration completed. I’ll open the door. A big door opened automatically.

“Wow…”

Sunlight poured in from a vast and large window. It was a great room. The carpet on the floor was very luxurious, and the chandelier on the ceiling was also a beautiful piece of crystal.

‘You lived here.’

As she said, it is certainly not economically inconvenient. But it was hard because she couldn’t talk to people.

Ezet looked around the room for a while and sat on a big sofa. The sofa was big and fluffy, so she could lie down and sleep.

“It’s comfortable, but… It’s definitely a bit bleak.”

Ezet took out a small, thin, flat square object buried in the corner of the sofa. It was the size that fit into the palm of her hand. Ezet was amazed to see that there were numbers from 1 to 0 and strange symbols on the shiny glass plate.

“The Duchy of Jaxen uses these marvelous tools to solve their convenience.”

When she saw a high technology facility that didn’t go well with the landscape mixed with jungle and grassland outside the window, Ezet was speechless.

“How did she live in a place like this?”

“It’s a strange tool. Do you know how my sister lived here?”

—It’s not a strange tool; it’s a terminal.

“…do you talk?”

— Invalid command.

The device seemed to have several automatic voice recognition features.

As Ezet pressed the red star, which revealed its overt presence, the device quickly said that touching the pad several times so quickly could be damaged and reduce the recognition function.
