Chapter 4
Undercover Infiltration Duchess
Ezet was so shocked that she held her breath for a while but only managed to release it when her eyes became hazy. Her heart fluttered, and a chill went down her spine.
If someone asked if she is okay, sheâll grab them by the collar and ask. Do I look okay to you?
Unlike the Ezet, however, the horseman calmly drove the carriage. The horses also ran at a steady speed without running wild in surprise and seemed familiar with the garden, which appeared to be a mix of Amazon and Savannah.
Erit said. She couldnât get out of the Duchy.
Ezet thought it was because of a contract that âunless it is necessary, she would not meet outsiders.â
But it wasnât. âNo, Iâm getting out of here!â
Stop the escape.
âAh, ah! I canât, can I?â
There seemed to be no exit door.
A pterodactyl flies up through those tall trees and says, âGive me your head, human!â
As she felt good when she managed to escape the screaming forest, a large strange castle appeared.
It was the Duchessâs residence.
No one came out to meet her. There were no butlers, no servants, no maids.
What is this place?
Instead of looking around the driver in embarrassment, the horseman, who was organizing the reins, pointed to the floor with a âwooâ sound.
âOh, all the servants are mute.â
Ezet looked in the direction pointed by the horseman. The floor was lined with shiny, fluorescent, green arrows along the road.
âAre you asking me to follow the arrow? What kind of emergency exit is that?â
The fluorescent green arrow stole the eye by showing off its more significant presence as it was getting darker. Ezet followed the arrow up the stairs and reached the hallway.
At first glance, she could see a massive door that seemed to be the Duchessâs bedroom. The problem is that the door didnât have a doorknob.
âHow do I open it?â
âBeep! Put your hands on the recognizer.
âOh, my gosh!â
âPlace your hand on the recognizer.
âWhat is it? Is there a sound coming from this door?â
âPlace your hand on the recognizer.
âAmazing. Does this work with mana?â
âIf you donât put your hand on the recognizer in 10 seconds, we will consider you an intruder and be attacked.
âWhat? What the hell are you talking about!â
â10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3â¦â¦.
âOh, okay! I got it!â
At the center of the door, the handâs shape shining in fluorescent light green seemed to be a recognizer. Ezet put her hand in a hurry.
âFingerprint registration completed. Iâll open the door. A big door opened automatically.
âWowâ¦â
Sunlight poured in from a vast and large window. It was a great room. The carpet on the floor was very luxurious, and the chandelier on the ceiling was also a beautiful piece of crystal.
âYou lived here.â
As she said, it is certainly not economically inconvenient. But it was hard because she couldnât talk to people.
Ezet looked around the room for a while and sat on a big sofa. The sofa was big and fluffy, so she could lie down and sleep.
âItâs comfortable, but⦠Itâs definitely a bit bleak.â
âBeep! What are you looking for?
âOh, my gosh! Where does this sound come from?â
âPlease press the number you want. No. 1 meal, no. 2 bathâ¦
âIs this whatâs talking here?â
Ezet took out a small, thin, flat square object buried in the corner of the sofa. It was the size that fit into the palm of her hand. Ezet was amazed to see that there were numbers from 1 to 0 and strange symbols on the shiny glass plate.
âThe Duchy of Jaxen uses these marvelous tools to solve their convenience.â
âTo hear it again, press the asterisk.
When she saw a high technology facility that didnât go well with the landscape mixed with jungle and grassland outside the window, Ezet was speechless.
âHow did she live in a place like this?â
âTo hear it again, press the asterisk.
âItâs a strange tool. Do you know how my sister lived here?â
âItâs not a strange tool; itâs a terminal.
ââ¦do you talk?â
â Invalid command.
The device seemed to have several automatic voice recognition features.
As Ezet pressed the red star, which revealed its overt presence, the device quickly said that touching the pad several times so quickly could be damaged and reduce the recognition function.
