Chapter 589: Frozen End
Flashy Adventurer System : Show Off to Get Stronger!
*SPURT!*
Purple blood splattered across the concrete white walls of the battle dimension, creating abstract yet intricate patternsâan enigmatic testament to the fierce battle that had taken place.
*ROAR!*
Shortly after, a primordial roar of agony was followed by a massive body crashing onto the dark purple, hollow void floor, sending large ripples across the peculiar surface.
"Impossible! Impossible!!! I, Veidrax, was wounded heavily by a mere youngster?!" The Void Dragon exclaimed, prompting Shye to turn his head, his eyes wide open in disbelief.
âThereâs no f*cking way this dragon is still alive and complainingâ¦â
Both parties gazed at each other with disbelieving eyes.
Veidrax was aware that there were exceptionally powerful individuals among humans. However, it had never encountered one so young yet so formidable. This was the source of its bewilderment.
On the other hand, Shye felt a satisfying sensation as his greatswords sliced deeply into the Void Dragonâs body.
Although he couldnât cut it in half with a single strike, he was confident it would at least be twitching on the ground, nearing its final breath.
He couldnât believe it still had the energy to try standing up and complain, even though its neck wobbled unsteadily.
It wasnât just Veidrax and Shye who were stunned and astonished.
The ten directors of the WAA were also on their feet, with some clutching their heads in disbelief at yet another miracle performed by Valenziaâs golden boy.
Who would have thought that a young manâbarely two years into his adventuring careerâwould truly have a chance to defeat such a creature of legends?
It didnât take long for Hale to snap out of his stupefaction, however, immediately calling one of his aides.
"Whereâs Albus and Frozen End?"
"Sir Hale, Sir Albus isâ"
*BANG!*
Haleâs attention was suddenly captured by a loud explosion on the holographic screen, causing him to accidentally hit the end call button, abruptly cutting off his conversation with his subordinate.
It didnât seem that he needed to call again, however, as the man he was looking for was already within his vision.
"Albus Verona of the Poison Cloud, reporting for the Tetanus Dagger!"
Upon hearing the unfamiliar voice echoing from a breach in the battle dimensionâs walls, Shye and the other party members were stunned for a few seconds before their minds finally grasped what was happening.
Reinforcements had arrived!
"Sir Albus!" Mira exclaimed in utter delight. She was from the same region as Albus. Hence, she was familiar with how capable the man was.
They were saved.
"Oh? Mira? You were a part of this extermination party?"
"Y-Yes, Sir Albus. Thank you for coming to save us."
"No worries, whereâs the Void Dragon?"
"..."
Mira answered by simply turning her head to where Shye and Veidrax were.
âHoh, so thatâs Shye Crowley, huh? Looks a bit youngâ¦as for the Void Dragonâ¦Hmm?!â
Upon laying his eyes on Veidrax, who was struggling to even breathe and stand straight, Albus was utterly stunned.
When Albus decided to pursue the Tetanus Dagger he had long coveted, he anticipated a tough battle.
He had little faith in the champions and doubted that his reinforcementâa titled adventurer from Valenzia, who was a mageâwould arrive as quickly as he did.
He was prepared to work for the weapon of his dreams.
However, it didnât seem like the Void Dragon would be able to put up much of a fight now given its condition.
âAnd the one who came so close to killing it wasâ¦â
Shifting his attention once more, Albus turned his head and looked at Shye.
âShye Crowley, huh? I could see why the WAA wanted me to save him from this predicament, butâ¦did I really have to come?â
Naturally, Shye also noticed Albus, allowing him to breathe a sigh of relief.
Although it seemed like the battle was turning in his favor and he was gaining the upper hand against the Void Dragon, Shye knew that finishing it off alone would be a challenge, even for him.
It might even cost him a leg or an arm, which was, of course, far from desirable.
It would be better to seek a heroâs help.
"Sir Albus, correct? I appreciate your effort in accepting the rescue mission. Please help me dispose of this dying dragon."
"Hahaha! Quite the polite guy, I see! Very well, I, Albus Verona of the Poison Cloud, shall assist you in slaying this legendary beast!"
Immediately after agreeing to help Shye, as it was part of his mission anyway, Albus charged towards Veidrax, who was extremely furious.
"ANOTHER YOUNG HUMAN?!" The heavily wounded Void Dragon raged, the purple flames in its eyes and mouth ablaze. "IâLL SLAUGHTER EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU!"
After cursing its heart out, Veidrax flew, diving towards the charging Albus the next moment.
"Hahahaha! Too slow!"
Leaping to confront the Void Dragon mid-air, the Chellione Hero twisted his body, slipping beneath Veidraxâs chest.
A moment later, the dragon and the human passed each other as if nothing had occurred.@@novelbin@@
But this was far from the truth.
In the next moment, purple blood spurted from a long, moderately deep wound stretching from Veidraxâs chest to its right hind leg, causing the dragon to roar in anguish and thrash wildly.
"Hahaha! You lost that time, Void Dragon!" Albus cheerily exclaimed, bringing further shame and anger to Veidraxâs heart.
Spitting blood as it struggled to stabilize its footing, the Void Dragonâs eyes turned pitch black.
Then, the next moment, it laughed uproariously as though it lost its mind.
"HAHAHAHAHA! VERY WELL, HUMANS! I ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR CAPABILITIES! I ADMIT DEFEAT IN TERMS OF STRENGTH AND COMBAT SKILLS. BUT I WONâT BE GOING TO THE UNDERWORLD ALONE..."
Everyoneâs eyes widened and their hearts raced as they felt a huge mana buildup inside Veidraxâs body.
"Shit! Itâs trying to detonate its core! Everyone, gather up! Use your strongest defensive skills!" Albus cursed, to think that even his life would be in jeopardyâ¦
He started to regret accepting the damned rescue mission.
"Iron Fortress! Steel Mountain!"
"Mana Barrier! Aqua Barrier! Earthen Wall!"
"Physical Barrier! Aqua Barrier! Flame Wall!"
Following the heroâs command, Shye, Mira, and Dalton quickly complied, activating all their defensive skills to form a thick, multi-elemental barrier in front of their small group of five.
However, both Shye and Albus quickly recognized that their defenses wouldnât be enough to withstand the blast from the coreâs detonation.
In the end, who lived and who died would be left to fate.
"Brace for impact!"
But then, just when everyone gritted their teeth and accepted their fate, an unfamiliar womanâs voice sounded, as gentle as the morning breeze.
"Glacial Bulwark."
In the next moment, a massive wall of ice, far thicker than their combined defensive skills, rose from the ground.
Frozen End of Valenzia has arrived.
