Chapter 5 - Alex

Bzzzz. Bzzzzz. Alex was starting to resent morning phone calls. Sliding up in her bed, she grabbed her phone off the night table then grinned.

[Text from Jordan to Alex] Good morning beautiful.

[Text from Alex to Jordan] Good morning.

Jordan: Your car's still at the studio, right?

Alex: Yes.

Jordan: Ok, I've got a meeting on the lot today, so I'll pick you up.

Alex: Ok. Thanks.

Jordan: Also, I need your advice. How does this outfit look for my meeting?

Alex laughed out loud when a picture of a shirtless Jordan popped up on her screen.

[Text from Alex to Jordan] So, that's how you land auditions. I should have known!

[Text from Jordan to Alex] Is that a no on the outfit?

Alex: Absolutely no for your meeting. Perhaps a yes for me, though...

Jordan replied with a dozen cheesing heart eye emojis. Alex had butterflies and although she just spent an entire afternoon, with Jordan, she couldn't wait to see him again.

Alex turned on the television and started with her morning routine. As she stood before the her bathroom mirror, she thought she heard someone say her name. Walking out of her ensuite to investigate further, she froze in place.

On her bedroom flat screen was what appeared to be a video taken on someone's cell phone. In the video, she and Jordan were smiling in his parents' yard, doing the electric slide with family and friends. Alex rushed to turn the volume up, just as Kitchen Kitty appeared on her screen.

"Foodies this tea is piping hot! And I'm about to serve up the entree, sides, and desert on this story! Now you know folks were speculating 'It Magazine' cover star Jordan W. and Alexandra Montgomery might be together-- after they were seen in VIP at the Young Hollywood party. But I said no, cause although he's a snack, we ain't never seen Jordan with no woman before, you feel me, foodies? However, after an insider gave Ms. Kitty this exclusive footage, I was like ok, maybe she's just his beard-- cause I mean, we ain't never seen them together before, and all of a sudden they're at the family cook out? Suspicious!"

Alex couldn't believe what she was seeing and hearing, but Kitchen Kitty didn't end there.

"So you know I had to get on the case! Turns out, they are the real deal! They've just been extra sneaky. Here they go at Lakeside Park, all cuddled up on a blanket under the stars. They were seen by several eyewitnesses well after midnight."

A dark picture taken from several yards back of Jordan and Alex appeared on the screen.

"You can't make them out perfectly, but if you look in the background, you can see Jordan's Jeep truck. It's them, Foodies, and they are in love! Another case cracked in the kitchen by Kitty!"

Alex felt sick to her stomach. Her head began to spin. What was she going to do? Has her mother seen this, yet? How would she explain this to her? Jordan! She suddenly remembered. He' ll be here in less than an hour!  This was a mess and she had to take control of the situation, fast.

First, she would call a Lyft. There was no way would be seen with Jordan again until she found out who was following them, leaking videos, and if he was only using her to promote himself... or worse, cover up something else he was hiding.
