Chapter - 8

Author's POV :

At Dixit's house one week later

Naina was discharged from hospital. The wound was now settled but still she suffers light headaches when she takes stress .

When Veerendra consulted doctor he told this might take some time to become normal .

Veerendra was now fed off both Arun and Arjun. If they both come face to face , they will start fighting. Initially the parents thought these fights will be solved but now it doesn't seem so .

When Veerendra was thinking about these things Raghuram and Sumithra along with Arjun came to the Dixit's to see Naina.

" Veer , what are you thinking?" Asked Raghu who saw the tension on Veer's face.

" I was thinking about Arjun and Arun "

" Bhaiya , I  understand that  you want to solve their issue but I think we need to give some time "

Arjun was standing there silently feeling the guilt .

" Arjun beta , why are you standing there alone go and talk with Naina , she is feeling bored from morning . Arun is also at his friend's house" said Meena .

" Ok aunty" He said and went towards her room .

Arjun was happy as he was going to meet her after a week .

He knocked on the door of the room but he was afraid how will he face her .

" Come in "

He opened the door only to see Naina laying on the bed , her head hanging off the bed and a book in her hand .

" Naina what are you doing, you might get hurt" he went running towards her and held her head.

" Relax Arjun, i won't" she laughed seeing his actions.

He made her sit on the bed and sat near her.

" Naina how are you?"

" I am completely fine Arjun " she said giving a smile .

" I m sorry Naina , I still carry the guilt , i- "

" Shut up Arjun, how many times will you say the same thing and how many times I have to repeat myself"

" But I still feel i m the reason for your situation " he said and his face was evident about how sorry he was feeling.

" Arjun , listen to me , you can never think anything wrong about me and I have the faith in you"

" How do you have faith in me ?"

" I don't know but I can feel safe when I m with you, when I am around you i can be myself and moreover I will the happiest person around you "

It was a pleasant silent after the words exchange, both just staring and smiling at eachother.

" Oh Naina wait I forgot something "

He got off the bed and started to check his pockets.

" What are you searching for ?" She asked

Then he took one bracelet from his pocket . It was a silver bracelet with a heart locket on it.

He took her hand and made her wear the bracelet.

" Wow Arjun this is so beautiful, when did you buy this and where. ?"

" When I was visiting you hospital , i thought I would give you this and apologize but I couldn't give you on that day so i thought to give you today" he said .

" Thank you Arjun , i really liked it so much " she hugged him .

" Arjun, we will be the same even if my brother is not your friend. I don't want you to stop talking to me"

" Naina did you really think your brother can stop me from being your friend "

" But he was very angry that day when you visited me "

" I know him , his anger wont be for more days"

" Arjun you are again here " shouted Arun .

He returned from his friends house.

" Arun bro listen don't shout. Everyone in the house is really sad because of us "

" So what , and it's not because of us it's because of you, you are the reason for everything. Just get out of my home and don't call me bro"

" Are you mad , I m not the sole reason, you were the one who started the fight between us "

" Really, how can you say that " Arun catches the collar of Arjun's shirt .

" Bhaiya , leave him na , why are you starting this again "

" You stay out of this matter Naina , and don't take his side "

" Why are you shouting at her , just show your anger on me " Arjun pushed Arun .

This made Arun more angry and they soon started to fight .

Naina got scared and ran down to call her .

" Raghu , I got the call again about the tender " said Veer.

" What are you thinking then ? "

" I was thi- " he was about to say but he saw Naina  running towards them.

" Naina beta don't run , what happened?" Asked Veer hugging her .

" Dad , Arjun and Arun are fighting in my room " she said taking deep breath.

" Not again" said Raghu.

Raghu and Veer moved towards her room only to see Arun and Arjun on the floor fighting , making the room a mess.

Veer and Raghu seperated them . Meanwhile everyone came running towards the room.

" Arjun  Arun how many times I have to repeat the same thing, you guys are not kids anymore . Can't you behave maturely " scolded Raghu.

" Dad it's not me who started the fight today , you can ask even Naina " said Arjun .

" Whoever might started the fight but you both are the one who fought. You guys are behaving like gully rowdies.

Look at yourselves. Your shirts have been torn , your hair is a mess and so is the room because of you"

"Uncle , ask your son to stay away from my family. I told him so many times to stay away from my sister, he is sticking to her like chewing gum " said Arun in a rude tone .

This made the ladies gasp.

" Arun " screamed veer and slaped him . " Is this how you behave with your elders. Apologize to him now "

This made Arun even more angry and he went out of the room .

" Arun where are you going " meena tried to stop him .

" Let him go Meena , don't stop " .

"Veer what are you doing " said Meena but stopped after getting a glare from veer.

" Don't stop me Meena , can't you see how your son is behaving"

" But it's not correct to beat him , he is not a kid anymore, you can't raise your hand on him "

" Yes he is not a kid anymore, he needs to know how to behave "

" But veer- "

" No more buts and I have decided, we will be moving to Mumbai "

" What " everyone was shocked after listening to his announcement.

" When did you decide veer " asked Meena .

" Just now , and there is no change in the plan , we are going that's it " veer declared himself.

" Veer listen to me , i know it's your decision but how can you shift all of a sudden, Arun is in his high school, his studies will be affected, and  how will you be there alone in Mumbai "

" Yes papa, I don't want to leave , sri is here how can I leave her ?"  Said Naina holding Sri 's hand .

" And bhaiya how can Meena manage alone there " said Sumithra.

" I don't know anything, but we can't stay here anymore. I can't bear anymore fights and nonsense. I don't want our friendship getting ruined because of our kids . We still can be in touch, but , we are going " veer said and moved out .

" Veer wait " meena ran after him .

After this , it was the time for everything to change . A lot of discussion and arguments have happened but the decision of shifting to Mumbai was declared in the end .

The Dixit family started to pack their things and eventually Arun was happy to leave Delhi . But Naina was not happy.

Everything went so fast that within three days they were shifting from Delhi to Mumbai.

In the Dixit's house , there present all the Dixit and Seghal elders packing the stuff .

" Veer , are you sure ? Move away doesn't solve their issues . Think once a last time . For us "

" Raghu , I have decided and I don't want to stay . Please, understand me."

" I know , when you take a decision it's hard to manipulate you , but  nevermind "

The ladies on the other hand were in the kitchen packing.

" Meenu , I know you are not happy shifting, stay strong. If you need anything call me , I ll run to you "

" Thanks sumi "

They both soon came into a warm hug which was definitely needed.

Outside the Dixit's house,  Arun was  packing the cycles in the garage.

" Aru ,..."

This made him hault at his work. The sweet voice which he will never forget, the name which made him blush , he will definitely miss this .

" Sri"

" You are really moving"

" I know it's hard , but yes "

" Won't you miss me , papa , ma and bha-"

" No , i will not miss your Bhai,  I ll miss you sri , the most " this made tears form in her eyes .

" Don't cry sri , we will meet often, you can come to Mumbai. You uncle Aunty , that's it ."

" Uffoo , leave it , after moving to Mumbai don't forget to play cricket "

" I left cricket sri " he said leaving her shock.

" But Arun it's your favorite sport "

" It was sri , it was . The day Naina got hurt from it , because of my close friend  I left cricket. "

"Bhai are you done packing " came Naina running.

" Sri , thank God you are here , I want to give you something come with me "

Naina pulled sri with her. There Arun was standing there in garage thinking about Arjun.

" Wow Arun , what a great person you are " came Arjun clapping.

" What " questioned Arun in confusion.

" I think the great Arun Dixit's principles are only to other , he can break those rules "

" What rubbish are you talking Arjun have you gone mad ? " Shouted Arun in anger.

" You were the one , who told me that I was sticking to your sister like a CHEWING GUM, but see you are the one sticking to my SISTER,  CHEWING GUM"  Arjun shouted reverse on Arun .

" I wasn't sticking to your sister, I was just talking."

" Even i wasn't sticking to your sister. Then I will also talk to her "

" Stay away from my sister Mr. ARJUN SEGHAL" Arun pointed finger towards him .

" Same rules will apply to you also Mr.ARUN DIXIT." Said Arjun pushing Arun's hand away  and walked away from there .

Arjun went into his room and closed the door with a loud thud .

" I won't ever will meet him again , god please don't make him cross my path again " he murmured to himself.

On the other side other Seghals were out to bid a good bye to Dixit's.

" Okay then we will start now , bye Raghu take care " said veer and hugged him .

" I ll miss you veeru "

" Me too "

Veer broke the hug and sat inside the cab in the front passenger seat .

Arun , Naina and Meena sat at the back .

" Where is Arjun?" Asked Meena

" I don't know he was here only " said Sri .

" No problem we can leave" spoke Arun in anger .

" Okay then bye"  said Meena .

There left the Dixit's, from Delhi to start a new life in Mumbai.

After going to Mumbai , they settled in the city and their business also got more profits than normal .

Both Arun and Naina joined new school and made new friends.

Arun left cricket and chose basketball.

After that Arun was a champion in basketball.

For a few days , Naina and Sri often used to meet at any family get-together or any functions but Arun and Arjun never met eachother.

After few months , even it was difficult for sri and Naina to meet as they were busy with their lives . But they never lost touch and were bestfriends with eachother.

Everyone was happy in their new lives .
