Let’s see,” she said, scrolling through her phone, “a roast chicken leg, a roast chicken wing, a roast chicken breast, eight chocolate doughnuts missing from the freezer, the oven used four times, and six bags of chips gone from the snack cupboard. The surveillance shows the delivery guys placing the food by the iron fence in the backyard. Three times in total: once with delicious fried chicken, once with a KFC Family Bucket, and another time with crispy chicken and a box of rice.”

Listening to all this made Sophie remark, “It seems Mr. Pei truly loves chicken, eating it three times a day, every meal with chicken.”
