Chapter 929
Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James)
In a dim corner, a shadowy figure stared at Odieâs retreating form, fists clenched in silent rage.
Inside the Costello family estate...
âThe trending searches have hit over a hundred million. Looks like Odieâs going viral this time,â Sophie remarked, lying on her bed and scrolling through the news on her phone. Todayâs fiasco was likely enough to boot Odie out of here for good. Without backing from the Pollard family or the resources of the White family, Odie didnât stand a chance. He was a nobody abroad, completely unable to challenge Colbyâs position.
Colby emerged from the bathroom, towel-drying his hair. âThings are just about wrapped up here. Weâll head back to Devonport in a couple of days,â
he said, then wrapped Sophie in a warm hug and whispered, âIt's time we got our marriage license.â
Sophie blushed at his words. The chaos overseas had settled remarkably quickly, almost too quickly. Leaning into Colbyâs embrace, she confessed, âI still feel uneasy.â
âWhat? Donât trust your husbandâs skills?â Colby teased.
âToday... at the banquet hall, I thought I saw...â
âWho did you see?â
Sophie looked up into Colbyâs intense eyes. âI thought I saw...â
James.
She couldnât bring herself to mention Jamesâs name in front of Colby. Shaking her head, she said, âI must have been mistaken.â
James wouldnât come abroad quietly, and if he had shown up at Odieâs engagement party, he would have been the center of attention. There was no way he could have gone unnoticed.
âDonât worry about it. Iâll have Adler book our flight tickets,â Colby reassured her, gently ruffling her hair with affection.
Sophie nodded, feeling slightly more at ease. The crisis abroad had been resolved, and the Pollard family didnât seem to harbor any ill will towards Colby. The main triumph was derailing Odie and Sandyâs engagement. Odie couldnât cause any more trouble abroad. Their time overseas had run its course.
Meanwhile, back in Devonport...

ï¤Chapter 782 At S Corporation, Jenna walked into the CEOâs office, balancing a breakfast tray. She found Adler buried under a mountain of paperwork, the stacks towering on his desk like mini skyscrapers.
With a look of disbelief, Jenna reached out and poked Adler's arm. In the next instant, Adler sprang up from his chair as if on springs, shouting, âMeeting! Iâm gonna be late!â
Realizing there was no meeting today, Adler sighed with relief. âPhew, no meetings today.â
âYou... havenât slept all night, have you?â Jenna asked, noticing the dark circles under his eyes. âMaybe you should take a day off.â
âJenna, youâre the best!â Adler whimpered, his voice cracking as he fought the urge to collapse into her arms in tears. With Sophie and Colby away, the pressure of running all three companies had fallen squarely on his shoulders. And this was before the couple even went on their honeymoon! If they got married and took a few months off, heâd be dead from exhaustion.
âThere, there,â Jenna comforted him. âJust finish whatâs on your desk, and then you can take a break!â
Adler looked at the daunting pile of documents, his spirits sinking. âJenna...â
Jenna placed a thermos in front of him, her expression serious. âI made you some special chicken soup. Itâs good for the soul! Hang in thereâyouâve got this!â
