Chapter 702
Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James)
Polly said, âThe boss reconsidered yesterday and thought that the dress was indeed a bit inappropriate, so he had Jonah prepare another one on short notice. Ms. Sophie, you might want to try it on and see if it fits.â
âGot it.â
Sophie stood up, took off her jacket, and slipped into the new dress.
It was just a simple white dress, modest except for a slightly daring slit, nothing too revealing.
With such a plain dress on her, she must've looked like the least successful casino dealer.
Jonah was really playing dirty.
With the dress on, Sophie walked out with a scowl.
Odie turned around, only to see that the white dress, which had been tailored, perfectly cinched Sophieâs waist. Her slender figure seemed almost ethereal. The dress was originally meant to evoke desire, but on Sophie, it added a touch of nobility and elegance.
âThat one actually suits you well, though, Ms. Sophie. You don't seem too pleased.â
Sophie replied with a cold face, âDoes anyone work as a dealer dressed like this? Is Jonah deliberately opposing me? How can I attract more clients dressed this way?â
Facing Sophieâs dissatisfaction, Odie calmly said, âI picked out that dress.â
Sophie glanced at Polly, whose face also flashed with panic. She didnât know that the dress was Odieâs personal pick.
By now, Sophie couldnât bother to argue. She just nodded perfunctorily. âMr. Odie, you have exquisite taste. I really like it.â
Clearly, Sophieâs face spelled dislike, yet her words tried to flatter.
Odie didnât bother to argue with Sophie. He turned around and went downstairs. âLetâs go.â
Sophie, in her high heels, quickly followed Odie, who didnât seem to wait for her and intentionally sped up.
Sophie frowned. What was up with Odie? Did he wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?
If it werenât for her habit of wearing high heels, she might not have been able to keep up with Odieâs pace.

Odie ordered Jonah not to follow last night and now could only watch the two leave from the courtyard.
As she was leaving, Sophie distinctly felt Jonahâs icy gaze. It was as if he wanted to kill her.
âGet in the car.â
Odie got into the car with no gentlemanly demeanor.
Sophie was pulled back to the moment when she heard Odieâs commanding tone and saw his infuriating face. After getting in the car, she finally spoke, âMr. Odie, given your status, donât you know that itâs gentlemanly to let a lady in first?â
âGentlemanly? Whatâs that?â
Sophie was speechless. âThatâs something you lack.â
Odieâs arm rested on the car window, supporting his face, âMs. Sophie, you might be a lady of high society, but I'm not.â
âYou jest. With the Minton familyâs vast estate, it must have been around for over a century, right? I canât believe you wouldnât know.â
âDonât know, never learned.â
âI donât believe that.â
âWhatever.â
Odie, listening to this childish banter, suddenly found it immature. He must have been out of his mind to engage in such a pointless conversation with Sophie.
Sophie casually talked with Odie. Her eyes, however, kept glancing outside.
It was her first time in Summerfield. She had been drugged by Odie, so upon landing, she hadnât really seen what the city of Summerfield looked like.
