Angelo perked up with curiosity, leaning in towards Sandy like he’d just caught wind of some juicy gossip. “So, the date didn’t go well?”

“What do you think?”

“Was the guy no good?”

Angelo looked puzzled. “That can’t be right. I did a little background check myself. Odie seems like a decent guy. Are your standards so high you scared him off?”

“I’m not even that old! Why am I being set up on blind dates? Besides, Odie’s already graduated from college—he’s practically ancient. No, thank you.”

“Oh, age isn’t an issue as long as he’s handsome, right?”

Angelo shrugged nonchalantly. “Anyway, Mom and Dad are off traveling, so there’s no one home to back you up. I’m just your brother, and our big brother is super busy. You’re on your own.”

As Angelo turned back to the kitchen, Sandy quickly grabbed his arm. “No way, Harold! I already told Odie I’d go through with it. I even said we’d set a date soon.”

Angelo’s eyes widened. “What did you just say? You agreed? Who told you to do that?”

“You said it was up to me, so I agreed. What’s the big deal?”

“You!”

Angelo’s expression fell. “It was just a date to see how things went. Why are you rushing into this like you’re afraid you’ll never get married?”

Just then, a burnt smell wafted from the kitchen.

Angelo waved her off dismissively. “Get your big brother to meet the parents. I’m not dealing with this mess!”

With that, Angelo dashed into the kitchen to handle the situation. “Viona! Hurry up! There’s a fire! Put it out!”

“On it!”

Viona came running down from upstairs, and the two of them were shouting and fussing as they fought the flames in the kitchen.

Sandy could only roll her eyes and head upstairs.

Kiran was in the study, working with several assistants hovering around him.

Sandy quietly slipped through the door.

Without looking up, Kiran said calmly, “Back from the date?”

“Yeah... sort of.”

“How did it go?”

“It was okay.”

“Do you like him?”

“No.”

“Then I’ll cancel it for you. There’s no rush to get married.”

“But... I already said I agreed to the engagement and told him to get ready for our families to meet.”

Kiran paused, pen in hand.

He looked up, asking, “Who agreed?”

“...I did.”
