Chapter 1876
Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James)
Angelo perked up with curiosity, leaning in towards Sandy like heâd just caught wind of some juicy gossip. âSo, the date didnât go well?â
âWhat do you think?â
âWas the guy no good?â
Angelo looked puzzled. âThat canât be right. I did a little background check myself. Odie seems like a decent guy. Are your standards so high you scared him off?â
âIâm not even that old! Why am I being set up on blind dates? Besides, Odieâs already graduated from collegeâheâs practically ancient. No, thank you.â
âOh, age isnât an issue as long as heâs handsome, right?â
Angelo shrugged nonchalantly. âAnyway, Mom and Dad are off traveling, so thereâs no one home to back you up. Iâm just your brother, and our big brother is super busy. Youâre on your own.â
As Angelo turned back to the kitchen, Sandy quickly grabbed his arm. âNo way, Harold! I already told Odie Iâd go through with it. I even said weâd set a date soon.â
Angeloâs eyes widened. âWhat did you just say? You agreed? Who told you to do that?â
âYou said it was up to me, so I agreed. Whatâs the big deal?â
âYou!â
Angeloâs expression fell. âIt was just a date to see how things went. Why are you rushing into this like youâre afraid youâll never get married?â
Just then, a burnt smell wafted from the kitchen.
Angelo waved her off dismissively. âGet your big brother to meet the parents. Iâm not dealing with this mess!â
With that, Angelo dashed into the kitchen to handle the situation. âViona! Hurry up! Thereâs a fire! Put it out!â
âOn it!â
Viona came running down from upstairs, and the two of them were shouting and fussing as they fought the flames in the kitchen.
Sandy could only roll her eyes and head upstairs.
Kiran was in the study, working with several assistants hovering around him.
Sandy quietly slipped through the door.
Without looking up, Kiran said calmly, âBack from the date?â
âYeah... sort of.â
âHow did it go?â
âIt was okay.â
âDo you like him?â
âNo.â
âThen Iâll cancel it for you. Thereâs no rush to get married.â
âBut... I already said I agreed to the engagement and told him to get ready for our families to meet.â
Kiran paused, pen in hand.
He looked up, asking, âWho agreed?â
â...I did.â
Sandy sheepishly raised her hand.
Kiran didnât say anything, but the temperature in the study seemed to drop ten degrees.
Sandy quickly added, âHe didnât seem to like me, so I just wanted to teach him a little lesson.â
