Chapter 1635
Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James)
âI suppose thatâs the way it should be.â
Sophie turned to Adler and said, âI also owe Mr. Adler thanks for the reminder.â
âDonât mention it, Iâm naturally clever!â
âGetting all puffed up from a couple of compliments!â
Jenna slapped Adler playfully on the arm and then said to Sophie, âIn that case, weâll arrange for some people to set up defenses on the outskirts of the valley.â
âSince everyone got a lay of the land last time, I assume we all have some understanding of this valley. Hereâs a map of the terrain. In the short term, everyone needs to memorize the basic layout of this valley just in case.â
The layout of the valley was roughly charted by Colby during his last visit. Although not comprehensive, it was a relatively safe route.
Harold spoke up, âIâll arrange for some people to be stationed inside the valley to familiarize themselves with the terrain as quickly as possible, so they can provide assistance from both inside and outside in case of any emergency.â
At this point, Harold paused for a moment, his expression tinged with worry, âBut we only know one route. If we donât know the full layout of the valley, it's still very dangerous.â
âThe latest map of the valleyâs terrain has arrived.â
Suddenly, Elodieâs voice came from outside the door.
Everyone turned towards the entrance to see Elodie and Griffin walking in.
Moreover, Elodie was holding a roll of paper in her hands.
âHow did you get here?â
Sophie was slightly surprised.
Elodie had been busy with her businesses in Devonport, but despite her hectic schedule, she had come to offer her help.
âThis has become a major issue. If The Silent Shadows really take over Devonport, I fear I wonât be able to do business here anymore.â
Having seen Josephâs madness before, Elodie knew The Silent Shadows were not to be trifled with.
She unrolled the map and pinned it to the blackboard, saying, âThis is the latest map of the valleyâs terrain Iâve acquired. Thought it might be useful to you, so I brought it over.â
âHow did you come by a map of the valleyâs terrain? And how did you know we needed it?â
Adler looked at Elodie with a puzzled expression.
They had only just deduced The Silent Shadowsâ base was in the valley, so Elodie having such a map was indeed surprising.
âAn old friend of yours gave it to me.â
Saying so, Elodieâs gaze fell on Sophie.
Everyone also looked towards Sophie and Colby.
Though it was just a look, they all knew the old friend Elodie mentioned was James.
Adler scratched his head, puzzled.
How did James come by this map?
Sophieâs eyes darkened.
âNo matter where this map came from, as long as itâs authentic, we can greatly minimize our risks.â
Sophie stepped forward and examined the map of the valleyâs interior. The path marked on it largely matched the one Colby had remembered.
It seemed to be genuine.
âYouâre not planning to confront The Silent Shadows, are you?â
Although Elodie hadnât been in touch with them recently, from the snippets of conversation, she had pretty much figured out their intentions.
Elodie crossed her arms and said, âYou better think this through. The Silent Shadows arenât ordinary foes. Joseph might be a lone wolf, but The Silent Shadows are much more profound. If they decide to take serious action against you, I doubt youâd stand a chance.â
