Chapter 1549
Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James)
âMaster? Only fools would buy into that kind of nonsense.â Kiran's voice dripped with disdain. âSince youâre so devoted to your master, I'll send you off to meet him first, then Iâll make sure your master joins you.â
With a swift command from Kiran, his crew started picking off members of The Silent Shadows. Within moments, the place was a scene of chaos, littered with bodies and stained with blood. Kiran stood unfazed by the carnage. Once the dust settled, one of his guys approached him, âMr. Angelo, itâs all sorted.â
âGet our team ready and head straight to the Gibbs estate.â
âGot it.â
Kiran's crew efficiently tidied up the scene, then piled into a line of sleek black cars, speeding off towards the Gibbs estate. That day, the heart of Summerfield was alive with blaring car horns, leaving bystanders puzzled. But such spectacles were old hat in Summerfield, and folks quickly cleared a path to dodge any trouble.
The Gibbs estate was already swarming with people. Sandy, who was upstairs about to hit the hay, stiffened at the sound of the honking outside.
Kena barged into Sandyâs room in a hurry.
âWhatâs happening?â Sandy asked, picking up on Kenaâs nervous energy.
âYour brotherâs crew is here! Itâs too risky to hide anyone here, youâve got to come with me!â In a fog of panic, Sandy followed Kena, who was already hustling her toward the basement.
Sandy found herself tucked away in a tiny wine cellar as Kena smoothed down her nightgown and headed back upstairs. Meanwhile, Kiran's men had the estate's security wrapped up, leaving them defenseless.
Kiranâs guys gave the Gibbs estateâs door a heavy knock. But Kiran, thinking this was all too polite, stepped up and aimed his gun at the lock. With a resounding âbangâ, the door swung open, and members of the Pollard family poured in.
Kena, keeping her cool, faced Kiran, âSir, I donât think weâve met before.â
âCut the act,â Kiran snapped, aiming his gun at a vase behind Kena. A single shot sent the vase smashing to pieces, and the other servants dropped to their knees, shielding their heads in terror. Gunfire wasnât unusual in Summerfield, but threats like this were unheard of for a family with the Gibbsâ
standing.
âWhereâs my sister?â Kiran demanded, his voice laced with menace.

Kiran raised his gun, his aim unwavering, and fired at another servant, who crumpled to the ground in a pool of blood.
âIâll ask once more, whereâs my sister?â The tension in the room was suffocating.
âSir, I donât even know who you are. How would I know where your sister is?â Kena said. âEveryone from our family is here. Would you like to see if your sister is among us?â
Her earlier panic replaced by a newfound composure, Kena stood calm and unafraid.
