Jenna stared at the news, feeling a chill run through her bones. What she initially thought was just a petty argument had clearly spiraled into a full-

blown marital crisis.

“No, I’ve got to head over to Aldridge Estate and get some answers!”

Jenna was always this direct. Adler quickly tagged along with her as they drove towards Aldridge Estate.

The entrance of the estate was heavily guarded. As the security guard saw Adler and Jenna’s car pull in again, he approached them with a weary look.

“Ms. Jenna, we’ve told you so many times already, without Mr. Aldridge’s say-so, you really can’t come in. Could you please not make things tough for me?”

“I’m not here to make trouble for you. I just need to talk to Harold!”

The guard looked conflicted but, seeing Jenna’s determined stance—as if she’d camp out there until Harold showed up—he finally relented.

“Ms. Jenna, please hang tight for a moment. I’ll go let Mr. Aldridge know. But if he decides not to see you, there isn't much else I can do.”

“Alright, go on then. I refuse to believe Harold would have the guts to ignore me!”

Jenna stood there with such authority that it was easy to forget Adler was standing right beside her. Adler comfortingly patted Jenna’s back, saying, “Calm down. It’s not worth getting yourself worked up over this.”

Upstairs, Odie rubbed his temples in frustration as he watched the commotion below.

“Why are they here again?”

Ever since they returned to Devonport, Jenna and Adler had been visiting nearly every other day to keep tabs on the situation. Harold knew they’d rush over the minute they saw the news, and he commented dryly, “Who let this news get so out of hand? Sophie really should have thought about the fallout.”

Jenna, being the oldest and always the big sister type, especially took this matter to heart since it involved her own younger brother who had wronged someone.

“Don’t you have any reaction? Are you just going to let them split up?”

Jenna couldn’t believe Harold’s nonchalance. They had all watched Sophie and Colby’s relationship grow, with Sophie being her dear friend. She couldn’t stand by and watch them drift apart over a misunderstanding.

Harold replied, “Jenna, all I have to say is, 'Mind your own business.' You’re smart enough to know what I mean.”

He added, “Whatever happens, if Sophie and Colby do break up, I’ll be in Sophie’s corner. I respect her choices and will protect her no matter what.
