Chapter 1499
Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James)
Adler glanced at Colby, who was sitting there like a statue in the car, and turned to Jenna with a smirk, "This guy's just pretending to be cool! Inside, he's probably freaking out, but he's putting on this 'I don't care' act. Watch this!"
With that, Adler swung open the car door and yanked Colby out by the arm, muttering through clenched teeth, "Come on, man! My wife's mad, and I don't want to look like a fool in front of her!"
Colby let himself be dragged out without a fuss.
Jenna stepped up, "Colby, you know Sophie isnât the kind to mess around. Sheâs probably waiting for you to explain things, or maybe sheâs just trying to get under your skin! Go up there, talk it out with her, and sort this whole mess out! You hear me?"
"Yeah, listen to your sister. What's the point of playing hard to get? Keep this up, and Sophieâs gonna end up marrying someone else!" Adler chimed in, nudging Colby toward the hotel.
But Colby just stood there, unmoving.
Out of nowhere, a few Costello family bodyguards showed up, and without a word, started pulling Jenna and Adler away.
"Hey! What's the big idea? Let go, or I'll make you regret it!" Jenna protested, ready to throw down, but she knew these were Colby's elite guards. No way she could take them on!
Soon enough, Adler was bundled into a car too, both of them whisked away like they were being express-shipped somewhere far off.
Once they were gone, peace finally settled over the street. It was late, and the place was nearly deserted.
Colby strolled into the hotel, and the receptionist's eyes lit up at the sight of him.
What a day, running into three such handsome folks!
"Sir, do you have a reservation?" the receptionist began, but Colby was already making a beeline for the elevator.
Realizing he hadnât checked in, the receptionist hurried out from behind the desk. "Sir! You havenât registered yet..."
She tried to stop him, but his bodyguards quickly intervened. "Do you know who you're dealing with? Think twice before stopping him," one of them growled, though the receptionist protested, "It doesnât matter who he is, everyone needs to check in!"
Colby headed up to the third floor.

ï¤Chapter 782 When he reached room 302, he paused. The hallway was silent, and he leaned against the wall, not knocking.
His head told him Sophie wouldnât be with that guy, but his heart urged him to burst in, sweep her into a kiss, and tell her she was his one true love.
Colby was usually all logic and reason, never one to overthink things. But with Sophie, every choice felt like a crossroads.
He constantly weighed his actions, always considering what would make Sophie happiest.
Now, he was stuck with the same problem. If she didnât want to see him, barging in would only upset her.
So, Colby stood guard outside the door until dawn.
Couples returning to their rooms late at night gave him odd looks, but Colby didnât notice.
At eight o'clock, he knew it was Sophie's wake-up time. Right on cue, he heard the sound of curtains being drawn inside.
