Chapter 1438
Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James)
A guy with a mask strolled in, cool as a cucumber. With just a slight raise of his hand, someone cut Odie loose.
âSo, whereâd you stash it?â
The voice was low and almost mechanical, the kind that sends shivers down your spine in a place like this dungeon.
Odie glanced at the masked figure, his face smeared with blood, yet he managed a cheeky grin. âTake a wild guess. If you hit the jackpot, I just might spill the beans.â
The air was ice-cold, making the whole scene feel even more grim.
Masked Guy held up two daggers, identical twins.
âOne of these is the real deal, the otherâs a dud. If the real one hits your heart, well, thatâs God calling for you. The fake one? Just means you get another shot at life. Mr. Odie, you love a good gamble, right? So, which oneâs it gonna be?â
Odieâs eyes turned to stone, cold and hard.
The guy chuckled, âYou know this game all too well, donât you, Mr. Odie?â
Before the words settled, he plunged a dagger into Odieâs chest, but it bounced off, a fake.
Then, with a sly grin, he said, âOops, forgot your heartâs on the right side.â
And in went the other dagger, sinking deep into Odieâs flesh.
Odie coughed up blood, and Masked Guy stepped back, unfazed. âRelax, this wonât kill you. I can test all those nasty tricks from the Minton Casino on you until you crack. But hey, hand over what I want, and you might just join The Silent Shadows.â
Odie looked up, defiant. His laugh was wild, âDream on, buddy.â
Silence wrapped around them for a moment. The dim light flickered, casting a spooky glow.
âBoss...â
âDo whatever it takes to make him talk. If heâs still mute by tonight, get rid of him.â
âGot it, boss.â

ï¤Chapter 782 As he walked out, Masked Guy paused, a thought lingering. âThink Sophie and Colby can sniff this place out? Bet theyâd never guess Odieâs trapped in his own casinoâs dungeon.â
Odieâs eyes flickered, just a bit.
âIf they show up... well, thatâd be interesting.â
With that, Masked Guy left, leaving a trail of mystery behind.
The pain in Odieâs chest was brutal. He was hoisted up again, only to be dunked into a tank of water.
The suffocation hit hard, making his head spin.
Pain?
This was nothing compared to what heâs survived.
Heâs walked this road before, and heâd do it again, fearlessly.
The boss?
What boss?
Whatâs he ever faced? Whatâs he ever felt?
Odie scoffed at the idea of God.
Even if death itself came knocking, he wouldnât flinch.
His life was his own, and heâd seen worse than this so-called savior.
