Chapter 1373
Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James)
Kiran sensed someone lurking behind him, and his eyebrows knitted together for a split second before he swiftly swung his arm back. James was quick on his feet, dodging just in time to see Kiran holding a dagger that had been concealed up his sleeve.
James frowned at the sight of the blade. "Mr. Angelo, don't you think you're overreacting just a tad?"
"Iâm not a fan of people sneaking up on me. Next time, Mr. Burke, be more careful, or this blade might find its way to your throat."
Kiran's lips curled into a smile, but his eyes were icy, and his words carried a dangerous undertone.
James raised his hands in surrender, "Hey, no harm intended."
"Brother!"
Sandy, remembering how James had helped save Sophie, tugged at Kiranâs sleeve, urging him to let it slide.
Kiran glanced at his sister's worried face and finally slipped the dagger away. "I'm taking her with me. If Joseph has any issues, he can take them up with me directly."
With that, Kiran headed inside to grab Sandy's suitcase.
"Bro! I donât..."
"Donât want to leave?"
Kiran playfully pinched Sandyâs cheek. "I'll count to three, and you can say that again."
"..."
Sandy swallowed her words, "I mean... Iâll listen to you, brother."
Satisfied, Kiran let go of her cheek.
As Kiran was about to lead Sandy away, James chimed in, "Mr. Angelo, there are a few things I think we should discuss in private."
"There's nothing to discuss between us."
Kiran was on his way out with Sandy when she caught Jamesâs eye.
Sandy impulsively said, "Come on, bro, just hear him out."

ï¤Chapter 1372 Seeing his sister speak up, Kiran raised an eyebrow, "When did you two become so chummy?"
"Iâve gotta use the restroom... be right back."
Sandy dodged the question, recalling Sophie's insistence that her supposed death had to stay under wraps. She couldnât reveal to Kiran that Sophie was alive, thanks to James.
After all, she wasnât sure where her brother's loyalties lay just yet.
Once Sandy dashed off, Kiran walked up to James. He checked his watch, "Ten minutes. Thatâs all youâve got."
James nodded, "Plenty of time."
In the Burke familyâs ground floor bathroom, Sandy lingered a bit after using it, biding her time.
When she finally stepped out to see how things were going, she heard her brotherâs voice from a corner, "Looks like my sister's been having some digestive issues lately."
"Ah!"
Startled, Sandy turned around to see her brother holding the suitcase in one hand and her wrist in the other, guiding her outside.
Trying to keep her cool, Sandy asked, "So, did you guys finish talking?"
"All done."
"Did it go well?"
"Not too shabby."
"What did you guys talk about?"
Catching onto Sandyâs attempt to dig for details, Kiran paused, glanced at her with a teasing smile, "Fishing for secrets, sis?"
