Chapter 1322
Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James)
Odie chimed in, âSheâs burning up with a fever. Can you get one of your doctors to check her out and maybe give her something to bring it down?â
âA fever?â Rick raised an eyebrow, reaching to feel Sophieâs forehead. âWow, sheâs really hot. Iâll call William over to give her something.â
âNo need for all that; Iâll be fine after a nap,â Sophie insisted.
Hearing this, Odie frowned, âSo, without Colby around, youâre acting up, huh?â
âIâm not...â
âThen call Colby, let him handle it.â
With that, Odie started pulling out his phone.
Sophie quickly stopped him, saying, âNo! Iâll take the medicine.â
Odie glanced at Sophieâs hand, which halted his call. Clearly, Colby was the only one who could keep Sophie in check.
âAlright then, back to your room for the meds.â
With a no-nonsense look, Odie headed downstairs. Sophie, keen to explore the third-floor attic soon, decided to cooperate and followed Odie back to her room.
Meanwhile, William, looking a bit on edge, slipped out of Gordonâs room and peeked at Rick, asking, âDid she see me?â
Rick, staying poker-faced, nudged William back in, âGet the fever reducer ready. Make sure she gets some extra rest.â
âDonât worry! I know my way around a fever reducer!â William assured, brimming with confidence.
Rick glanced at Gordon, still out cold, and added, âLetâs keep Mr. Gordonâs illness on the down-low, especially from Ms. Sophie.â
âIâm a doctor. Patient confidentiality is my jam! Besides, itâs the first time Mr. Gordonâs asked me for something, so of course...!â
âLess chatter, more action, please?â
â...Alright!â
William grabbed his medical bag and scurried off to Sophieâs room.

ï¤Chapter 782 With the second-floor drama handled, Rick made his way to the third floor. He opened the attic door to find it bustling with workers. The walls were half-painted, the other half charred and blackened.
âClean all this up, get the wallpaper up. Make it look like an old, forgotten storage room,â Rick instructed.
âDonât worry, sir. Weâve got your instructions down. Give us three more hours, and itâll be all set.â
Rick nodded, âIf you need anything, just let me know, and Iâll sort it out.â
âMr. Rick, youâre too generous. Mr. Gordon has been great to us; this is the least we can do.â
The room was stocked with gear to help clear the air quickly.
Rick then went downstairs and opened Jenna and Adlerâs room, finding them with Angelo and Sandy, all cooped up until he arrived.
As soon as Rick showed up, Sandy, looking a bit miffed, said, âWhat took you so long? Can we go out now?â
âYou two can head out,â Rick said with a polite smile. âBut about the attic fire last night, the boss wants it kept under wraps. If anyone spills the beans, theyâll have to face the music.â
Rickâs tone was calm, but his eyes carried a clear warning.
