Chapter 1217
Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James)
Inside the Burke Estate.
Sophie sat by the bedroom window, staring out at the view. She'd been there for a good hour.
Colby walked in, noticing Sophie lost in thought, and wrapped his arms around her from behind.
"Thinking about James?" he whispered.
Sophie snapped back to reality and playfully poked Colbyâs head. "James? No way! I'm thinking about the mastermind behind all this!"
"Isnât that just another way of thinking about James?" Colby teased, a hint of jealousy barely detectable in his voice.
"I can think without mixing personal feelings!" Sophie leaned back into Colbyâs embrace. "Colby, do you think the person behind this is someone we know?"
"I donât know," he replied.
"They know us so well, and they've never slipped up. No oneâs ever seen them, not even their own people."
"Overthinking wonât help," Colby said, holding her tighter. "I wonât let them hurt you."
Suddenly, a loud commotion erupted outside.
"I saw him go into Sophieâs room! And Timothy was nowhere to be seen all day! It had to be him!"
"I didnât! It wasnât me!"
"It was you! Definitely you!"
Sophie and Colby exchanged glances and headed downstairs.
They found Angelo confronting Timothy, the earlier commotion having knocked over some items on the table.
"Mr. Angelo, whatâs going on here?" Sophie called from the second floor.
"Itâs him! Timothyâs the culprit!" Angelo pointed at Timothy. "Yesterday, he sneaked into your room. I saw it with my own eyes! And this morning, when Odie got attacked, he wasnât home! It must have been him!"
Timothy looked up calmly. "Ms. Sophie, it wasnât me."

Sandy, munching on chips nonchalantly, chimed in, "Bro, why are you so obsessed with a nanny?"
"I find him suspicious! With his pretty boy looks, opting to be a nanny in Devonport instead of something else, heâs definitely up to something!" Angelo insisted.
The noise drew Odie out of his room, now everyoneâs eyes were on Timothy.
Adler said, "We tested this guy before, didnât we say he was clean?"
Jenna added, "People can be deceptive. If what Mr. Angelo said is true, then Timothy, youâve been fooling us all along."
Timothy stood alone, opposed by everyone.
Odie pulled out a small knife and walked downstairs, his pale face showing a hint of ferocity. "Want to know if itâs true or false? One stab will tell us."
"Hey, hey, hey! Thatâs not cool! No knives at Burke Estate!" Adler quickly intervened.
The ruckus grew louder, even reaching Gordon in his study.
Rick asked, "Sir, itâs getting pretty intense downstairs. Should we check it out?"
Gordon, playing chess alone, replied indifferently, "Let them be."
