Odie shrugged nonchalantly. “I had Jonah managing it. Before we left today, I told him to get it ready, but then things got chaotic, and I didn’t keep track of it.”

“So, before the incident, Jonah had the agreement, but after the shooting, you lost track of it?” Sophie asked.

“The agreement was never on Jonah when we left. It was in his room the whole time,” Odie clarified.

Sophie frowned at this. Colby added, “I checked with Jonah before you got back. He said he left the agreement in his room because things happened so suddenly. But now, the agreement’s in James’ hands, which means someone from his side took advantage of the chaos to snatch it.”

“So, it’s that bastard James after all!” Adler snarled, grinding his teeth. “And to think I believed James was being decent to Sophie, even transferring the shareholding agreement to her. Turns out, he was playing a deeper game all along.”

Sophie stayed silent through the exchange. Noticing this, Colby spoke softly, “We can't be sure it was him. Let’s not jump to conclusions without the full picture.”

Adler, seeing Sophie’s silence, added, “Yeah, maybe there’s more to it, right?”

“Him? James? Who would give him the benefit of the doubt?” Sophie said softly, then stood up. “Everyone’s too tired today. Let’s head back.” She turned to Colby, saying, “Colby, I’m exhausted.”

“Alright, I’ll take you back,” Colby agreed. As he stood, he instructed Adler, “Have someone bring Odie and Jonah back to Burke Estate.”

Odie’s voice was frosty. “I won't stay with you.”

“Then you might as well stay here and get killed,” Colby retorted. The enemy had already made their move, clearly aiming for Odie’s life. Staying in the hospital could lead to another attack.
