Chapter 72

72. Full of shocks

Fractured Crowns

This was actually hilarious imagining their reactions 😆

......................

The sun dipped below the horizon as the cars pulled into the mansion’s driveway.

Divya, despite the exhaustion evident on her face, had insisted on being discharged that day.

The sterile hospital walls had grown unbearable, and she longed to be surrounded by her family.

As they entered the grand living room, the elders—Geeta, Rukmini, Neelima, Ishwar, and Shravan—were already seated, their expressions a mix of worry and suppressed anger.

Divya and Ishika were immediately enveloped in warm hugs, but the tension in the room was palpable.

Divya, still in her wheelchair as per the doctor’s advice, could feel the weight of everyone’s emotions pressing down on her.

Once everyone settled, Rudraksh, ever calm and composed, began recounting the horrifying events.

From Divya’s assault to the torture Ishika endured, and finally, how Amrita, Ananya, Mahima, and Aarush had stepped in to ensure justice was served.

By the time he finished, the elders’ faces were thunderous with rage.

Divya and Ishika exchanged uneasy glances, unsure of what would happen next.

The silence stretched, heavy and suffocating, until Geeta finally broke it.

“And what are you doing to those monsters?” she asked, her voice cold and sharp.

It was a tone neither Divya nor Ishika had ever heard before, and they froze in shock.

“Amrita, Ananya, Mahima, and Aarush are handling them,” Rudraksh replied, his voice firm but respectful.

Geeta’s lips curled into a grim smile. “Whatever it is, we want to see it,” she said, her eyes narrowing with an intensity that made Divya and Ishika stiffen.

“You want to see?” Ishika blurted out, disbelief coloring her voice.

Geeta turned to her, her expression unwavering. “What do you think, beta? That we will be scared?”

Ishika blinked, stunned, looking around at the gathered elders.

“Ishika,” Ishwar interjected, his tone calm yet commanding. “We were in the mafia, darling.”

Shravan chuckled darkly, leaning forward. “You think this is new to us? We’ve seen far worse than what you’ve described.”

Divya and Ishika’s jaws dropped simultaneously.

“You… you were in the mafia?” Divya asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Rukmini nodded, her eyes gleaming with a mix of pride and nostalgia. “We built an empire long before you kids were even born. What do you think kept us safe all these years?”

The room fell silent as Divya and Ishika processed the revelation, their minds racing.

“I can’t believe this…” Ishika muttered, her voice trailing off in shock.

Geeta stood, her sharp gaze determined. “Take us to them,” she said. “Let us see how our children handle justice.”

The boys exchanged a glance before nodding. Everyone got into their cars and drove toward Dreamlight, the family still reeling from the shocking revelation about the elders’ past.

When they arrived at Dreamlight, Shravan raised an eyebrow, his curiosity evident. “Why bring us here, beta?” he asked.

“This is where our basement is,” Ishika replied curtly, walking ahead without waiting for them to follow. Her demeanor was tense, her thoughts clearly elsewhere.

Everyone watched her ascend the stairs, entering Dreamlight with a sense of foreboding.

Divya tugged at Daksh’s sleeve, motioning for him to pick her up. He complied without a word, carrying her as she directed him and the others to the basement.

When they reached the basement door, they found Ishika waiting for them.

“Sorry, I got ahead…” Ishika murmured, opening the door.

Inside, Amrita, Ananya, Mahima, and Aarush were seated in a circle, casually sipping cool mango juices.

The scene was jarring, given the state of the room. Blood spattered the walls, and the broken, battered bodies of Divya and Ishika’s tormentors were chained to the far end, barely conscious.

The four stood up immediately upon noticing the elders.

“What are you all doing here?” Ananya asked, her confusion evident.

“We’re here to see how you’re doing your work,” Neelima replied with a smile.

“And we’re impressed,” Ishwar said, his gaze scanning the bloodied room with an approving nod.

“Aarush, you did well!” Shravan said, clapping him on the shoulder.

Aarush smirked. “Me? I didn’t do anything. It’s all your daughters.”

The elders turned to Amrita, Ananya, and Mahima, their expressions a mix of pride and surprise.

“You three?” Geeta asked, her voice laced with disbelief.

Mahima raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms. “Yes. Surprised?”

Before the elders could respond, Ishika stepped forward, her voice trembling. “You… you were in the mafia? How could you keep something like this from us?”

Divya, still in Daksh’s arms, stared at her grandmother, her voice barely audible. “You were… criminals?”

“Not criminals,” Rukmini corrected. “We were protectors. There’s a difference.”

"Wait what? Who were in the mafia?" Amrita asked, confusion in her face.

"Ishwar papa, Shravan papa, Geeta ma, Rukmini ma and Dadi" Divya read out.

"WHAT?!" Ananya, Amrita and Mahima shouted in union, utterly in shock.

Ishika’s gaze sharpened, as the thought hit her. “Wait. If you were in the mafia… are the boys also involved?”

The men exchanged glances before Rudraksh nodded.

“Yes,” Aaryansh admitted.

“WHAT!?” Amrita, Ananya, and Mahima exclaimed in unison again.

The boys said nothing, their silence confirming the truth.

"I can't believe this..." Ananya said, catching her head dramatically as of she was going to faint.

After a long pause and a lot of processing, Rishi broke the silence.

"Wait a minute. Who are you guys anyway?" He asked looking at the girls, his eyes squinted.

Aaryansh nodded. “How did you do this? And why do you have a basement like this in your office?”

The room fell silent, the tension thickening.

Amrita’s eyes gleamed with a dangerous intensity. “Because we’re not just your wives,” she said.

“We’re the Shadow Senanis,” Ananya added, her voice cold.

The elders and the boys froze, their shock evident.

“You’re… what?” Daksh asked, his voice high in shock.

Mahima smirked. “We’re mafia too.”

The room was heavy with silence, the weight of the revelations crashing down on everyone.

Aaryansh blinked, his confident composure cracking for the first time. "Wait... what?"

His voice was almost a whisper, as though he couldn’t believe what he’d just heard.

Aditya, who usually prided himself on being unshakable, ran a hand through his hair, his jaw tight. “You’re telling me... all this time, you three were—” He stopped, his words failing him.

Rishi, usually the most carefree, stood frozen. His usually playful smirk was replaced by wide eyes and a gaping mouth.

“You… the Shadow Senanis? You’re the Shadow Senanis? The legends? That was… you three?”

Amrita exchanged a glance with Ananya and Mahima before crossing her arms, her smirk unwavering. “Took you long enough to figure it out.”

Aaryansh stepped closer, his mind spinning. “How is this even possible? You’ve been hiding this from us all along?”

Amrita rolled her eyes dramatically. “Oh, please. You were hiding the whole ‘mafia prince’ thing too. Let’s call it even.”

Aditya stared at Ananya, his voice strained. “But... you don’t even like violence.”

Ananya raised a brow, smirking. “Correction: I don’t like unnecessary violence. What we do? That’s necessary.”

Aaryansh finally snapped out of his daze, letting out a low whistle. “Mind blown. Like, actually blown. I married a shadow queen. What even is my life?”

The girls chuckled at his reaction, but Rudraksh’s gaze darkened. “You have a basement like this in your office for a reason. Care to explain why you even need it?”

Amrita’s smile turned sharp, her eyes gleaming with a dangerous edge. “We’ve been protecting our people from the real monsters. You boys may play the kings, but in the shadows? We’ve always ruled. The Shadow Senanis didn’t just disappear. We became the whispers.”

The room was silent, the weight of their words sinking in. For the first time, the boys realized they weren’t the only ones living double lives.
