Chapter 96
Hold My Tear, I’m Getting My Wife Back! ( Leanne Castillo )
Chapter 96
âYour driver hit Suzan, and itâs all on you. Shouldnât you at least show some kindness and concern about her?â
âIâve paid the medical bills, bought the supplements, and even got her in touch with the top plastic surgeon in town. And didnât you and Dad already send a few vintage Tiffany lamps. as an apology? What more do you want me to do?â
Curtisâ voice dripped with sarcasm. âOr maybe I should just take a knife to my knee and get a few stitches to give her some peace of mind.â
âAnd when itâs all over, remember to get those Tiffany lamps back from Mr. Wright. My place is looking too empty without them.â
âYou are going too far, arenât you?â
Jenniferâs tone shifted abruptly. âHowâs the divorce with Leanne coming along anyway?â
âWhatâs the rush?â Curtis retorted.
âWhat do you mean by that? You two have been dragging the divorce out for months now. Itâs still not done yet?â
âDivorce isnât like wrapping up a farewell dinner. Thereâs a ton of assets to sort through. ers need to get it all straightened out.â Curtis seemed indifferent. âYou pushed
arriage, and now youâre rushing me into a divorce.â
bristled at that. âI never forced you to get married. It was all your grandmotherâs
eaâ¦
who chose to sacrifice me in the end?â
stunned into silence, Jennifer watched Curtis lift his gaze, a mocking smile on his lips.
âIn your eyes, Phillipâs marriage was too sacred to interfere with, yet my marriage was open season.â
Jenniferâs expression was a mix of emotions, which was sad and hard to read. âCurtis, I didnât mean it like that.â
âThen what did you mean?â
His voice was calm. âSince we were kids, only Phillip matters more than anything else to you and Dad. Our familyâs fortune belong to him, and I never held a place to get involved.â âItâs not what you thinkâ¦â Jenniferâs voice trailed off as she sighed deeply, taking his hand. âMarrying Leanne was a mistake, and Iâm sorry for that. Now that youâre separating, things can get back on track. Iâve spoken with Mr. and Mrs. Wright, and they agree to you being with Suzan. Once you and Leanne finalize the divorce paperwork, Iâll pick a good date with Mrs. Wrightâ¦â

Curtis laughed bitterly. âSo, youâve already picked my next wife, huh? Iâm not a catch on my second marriage, and the Wright family, eager as they may be to align with our family, wouldnât just jump at the chance without decorum. I havenât finalized my divorce, and here you are, already planning my next wedding.â
Tossing his tablet aside, he asked, âMrs. Richardson, what did you promise them to make. them happily sell their daughter to us?â
âHow dare you talk to me like that, Curtis?â Jennifer reprimanded him, âYou and Suzan grew up together. I know you have feelings for each other. Havenât you been the talk of the town these years, chasing her to Emberland? All I want is to see you two happy.â
âSave it,â Curtisâ face fell back to indifference. âFrom now on, stay out of my business.â
