Chapter 58
Hold My Tear, I’m Getting My Wife Back! ( Leanne Castillo )
Chapter 58
Curtis glanced at Leanneâs plate with a smirk. Is that all? Are you feeding a sparrow?â
While teasing her for her modest appetite, he nonchalantly snagged a slice of blueberry cheesecake from her plate.
Leanne, plate in hand, seemed to want to say something but hesitated.
âWhatâs with that look? Itâs just a piece of cheesecake, no need to be stingy.â
As he spoke, Curtis casually tossed a half-blogmed rose onto Leanneâs plate. The delicate pink petals unfolded slightly, releasing their subtle fragrance.
âConsider it compensation. Happy now?â He looked at Leanne with a playful squint. âIf thatâs not enough, I can go pick some more.â
Leanne gazed at the flower on her plate, silent for a few seconds before she couldnât hold back any longer.
âYou didnât wash your hands.â
Curtis was speechless.
Grinding his teeth slightly, Curtis pinched Leanneâs cheek. âI forgot youâre particular about cleanliness.â
Suzan was chatting up a storm with a group of old girlfriends nearby, keeping an eye on Curtis the whole time. She watched as he came back from outside, shooed away some guy chatting up Leanne, and wrapped his arm around her waist with familiar ease.
Suzan flickered her gaze and excused herself from her friends. Gathering her skirt, she walked towards them.
âBusy man, done with your calls?â she teased with a playful tone. âEveryoneâs been waiting for you to shoot some pool.â
âNot in the mood.â Curtis turned to Leanne. âYou done eating? Letâs head home.â
The smile on Suzanâs face vanished. âAre you leaving? The partyâs just getting started. Devin and Skyler have been looking for you for ages.â
What for?â Curtis retorted. âIâm not their mother.â
zan knew all too well his independent streak. After all, she had butted heads with him in the past, leading to their breakup.

If Curtis wanted to leave, no one could make him stay. So Suzan didnât press reminding him, âDonât forget your jacket. Itâs still in the room upstairs. I doubt the maidâs had a chance to clean it yet.â

Hearing this, Leanne, without a word, tossed the rose into the trash
Curtis caught the movement, his eyes lingering on the discarded flower for a second, his expression cooling slightly
âThat eager to throw away my flower?â
Leanne replied indifferently, âItâs not my flower Why would I want it?â
The flower, just like Curtis, belonged to Suzan canne didnât desire anything that wasnât rightfully hers.
Curtis grew colder. âWhatâs that mean?â
The tension between them was palpable when Suzan stepped in, playing peacemaker. âCurtis, why do you always have to be so harshy with Leanne?â
She then turned to Leanne to clarify, âLeanne, itâs not what you think. Before you got here, Devin was messing around, spraying champagne at me. I ducked behind Curtis, and Devin accidentally got champagne on his clothes, so he went upstairs to change into a spare shirt/Please, donât get the wrong idealâ
Leanne looked at her sincere face, easily picturing the scene. Devin playfully chased Suzan, with her seeking refuge behind Curtis who made Devin behave with just a glance.
What a cozy little trio!
Perhaps Suzanâs motive for inviting Leanne was to openly display Curtisâ affection for her. Well, sheâd done a stellar job, giving them a free pass to showcase their love story. Such an accommodating wife was hard to come by.
Leanneâs patience had its limits.
âNo misunderstanding here.â She set her plate down, foregoing any pretense of courtesy. She left the plate behind and walked away.
âLeanne!â Suzan called out anxiously, realizing she couldnât stop her, she nudged Curtisâ arm. âGo explain it to her. Donât let her get the wrong idea.â
âThis has nothing to do with you.â Curtis, visibly annoyed, didnât chase after Leanne, but instead strode towards the exit.
âCurtis, your jacketâ¦â
hout looking back, he replied coldly, âToss it.â
