Chapter 305
Hold My Tear, I’m Getting My Wife Back! ( Leanne Castillo )
Chapter 305
âWhat kind of attitude is that?â Claudine snapped, standing tall with indignation. âA doctor should always prioritize their patients. Youâre not rushing his treatment, and now that the test results are out, you havenât even checked them. If his condition worsens because of this delay, can you live with that responsibility?â
âWhy didnât you bring the test results with you when you came to see me?â Leanne retorted.
âWith all those papers, how was I supposed to know which ones to bring? Weâre your elders. While weâre staying in this hospital, you could at least show some concern for Harringtonâs health. What about you?â
Taking a moral high ground, Claudine pointed an accusing finger at her. âYou messed up Suzan and Curtisâ relationship. Weâve been letting it slide for Curtisâ sake and tolerated you over and over. Now youâre just taking advantage of that!â
Leanne, used to dealing with difficult patients, wasnât fazed. This was just another attempt to target her specifically.
âFirst of all, whatever agreement youâve reached with the Richardson family has nothing to do with me. I donât owe you or anyone else anything. Secondly, Curtis was single when we got married. If you want to bring that up, I wouldnât mind listing all the sneaky things Suzan has been up to behind our backs these past few years.â
Claudine, thinking Suzan still wasnât cunning enough, certainly wasnât going to settle accounts, âDo you mean youâre holding a grudge against us, deliberately delaying the test results?â
âI never mix personal feelings with my work. I treat all my patients equally,â Leanne replied. âItâs you, however, who seems to bring emotion into every word you say.â
Claudine was about to say something, but then thought better of it.
No doctor wanted to waste time arguing meaninglessly with a patientâs family.
Patiently, Leanne said, âRight now, Mr. Wrightâs eyesight is whatâs most important. If youâre concerned about his health, maybe put your emotions aside and focus on the treatment. If youâve chosen me to treat him, you need to trust me. If not, itâll be hard to proceed with further treatment.â
Those words left Claudine speechless.
Leanne added, âPlease go back now, Iâll be there in five minutes.â
Claudine, getting nowhere, stormed off with a grumpy face.
Back in the hospital room, she complained to Harrington, âThat girl used to be so quiet, and now sheâs so sharp-tongued I canât even argue with her.â

âWhy do you have to talk about her then?â a casual voice interjected.
They turned to see Curtis and Jennifer walking in.
Harrington softened his anger a bit, âYouâve come.â
Jennifer said, âHeard you were hospitalized, Curtis canceled his afternoon meeting to check on you. How are you feeling?â
Claudine changed her demeanor completely from how she was with Leanne in the office, smiling, âCurtis is so thoughtful, caring so much about Harrington.â
Curtis, with a laży stride and a hint of a smile, said, âThe moment Harrington was hospitalized, Leanne was so worried and urged me three times a day to visit. I couldnât delay. A meeting is nothing compared to Harringtonâs health.â
Everyone present knew he was bluffing.
Claudine, with a hint of sarcasm, said, âLeanne is a busy woman. Harrington has been in pain all day and she hasnât shown up. I barely said two words before she lectured me.â
Curtis lifted an eyebrow. âReally? Thereâs gotta be some kind of mix-up here.â
Feigning concern, he continued, âWhat exactly did she say? Tell me, and Iâll help you make sense of it.â
Claudine dared not repeat it,, muttering resentfully, âIt was nothing, just one thing led to another. I was just a bit anxious, Harringtonâs eye pain is severe. He can hardly see now.â
âThatâs great. Leanneâs professional skills are renowned in their hospital. Both colleagues and patients canât stop praising her. Sheâs all in, especially when it comes to Harringtonâs condition.â
Curtis spoke smoothly, affirming his and Leanneâs united front.
Claudine forced a smile, unable to continue the conversation.
Harrington snorted, âNonsense. Sheâd be lucky not to make my eyesight worse.â
Curtis nodded, âI get it now, Harrington. Itâs not that you donât trust Leanne. Youâre doubting me.â
