Chapter 250
Hold My Tear, I’m Getting My Wife Back! ( Leanne Castillo )
Chapter 250
Leanne had a poor appetite these days, but she still opened the box and took a bite. âWow, it is delicious.â
âThatâs the spirit. Itâs packed with all my love,â Joy declared, making heart gestures at her from all angles.
Leanne chuckled. âThatâs plenty. Any more, and it might just get too sweet.â
âWhatâs up? You seem down,â Ever so perceptive about her friendâs moods, Joy piped up. âOh, right. Wasnât it time you got your divorce papers with Curtis sorted?â
Leanne lost her appetite and set the pastry aside.
âNo.â
âHe didnât go through with it?â Joy snorted. âPlaying games, huh? Fine. Iâll get Selina, and weâll drag him to the city hall ourselves!â
âIt wonât work,â Leanne sighed. âThere was a problem with our divorce agreement. Itâs
void.â
Upon hearing the whole story, Joy exploded. âThat lowlife! How dare he play you like that? I will give him a piece of my mind!â
She jumped up, ready to storm out, but Leanne stopped her. âNo, Joy. Donât confront him. I donât want you getting hurt over this. Iâm so tired. Let me rest a bit.â
The fatigue in Leanneâs eyes broke Joyâs heart.
She wanted to go after Curtis, but with nothing but her fiery spirit against those high-and-mighty types, she felt as insignificant as an ant.
Leanneâs worry for her was evident, and Joy knew it.
âOkay, I wonât go. Got any beer? Iâll keep you company with a drink.â
Leanne didnât have a beer, but she did have some red wine someone had gifted her. She poured them each a glass.
The two nestled on the couch, slowly sipping wine. After a few glasses, possibly feeling the effects, Joy mused, âDo you think itâd be worth it to go down with Curtis?â

âNo, it wonât,â she replied. âWould you leave me behind?â
Joy hugged her. âI couldnât.â
Drinking did offer a temporary escape from their troubles. Leanne was slightly drunk, and

Joy coaxed her to go to bed, where she fell into a deep sleep.
After a while, Joy carefully got out of bed, grabbed her shoes, and quietly slipped out the door, gently closing it behind her.
The parking garage of the upscale office building was heated, but the sunless second basement level felt eerily cold and empty.
Selina got off, following Joy, who marched with determination. Selina had to jog to keep
Selina was nervous. âWhy am I here if youâre going to confront him? Iâm not brave enough to yell at him. My brotherâs not around, and Iâm scared.â
Filled with recklessness for Leanne, Joy knew no fear, but no one dared cross Curtis
within their circle.
The last time at the bar, Selina was scared stiff. She could only bad-mouth Curtis behind his back, never daring to face him head-on.
Joy said without pausing her steps, âThen you just stand by and watch. If things get physical, Iâll be at a disadvantage alone. Youâll need to call an ambulance for me.â
She geared up to take on Curtis, ready to go down swinging if she had to.
Selina, watching on with a mix of respect, emotion, and a twinge of jealousy, said, âI wish someone would fight for me like that.â
Joy gave her a sidelong glance. âI could give you the fierce right now.â
Selina was speechless.
âThanks, but Iâll pass.â
Joy stormed into ElitePinnacle with Selina in tow, demanding, âWhereâs Curtis?â
