Chapter 241
Hold My Tear, I’m Getting My Wife Back! ( Leanne Castillo )
Chapter 241
The morning dawned with a gloomy sky that seemed to match the somber mood of the city.
There was an important International Finance Forum happening that day, with big names like the IMF Director, CEO of the Indonesia Investment Authority, and the Chair of the Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission all set to attend.
Curtis was one of the keynote speakers, and when Caleb came to pick him up, he found him already waiting outside his apartment complex.
His dark gray overcoat seemed to accentuate the chill in his demeanor, blending in with the dreary weather. Standing tall, he was engrossed in his phone, his handsome face mirroring the gloom of the day.
Caleb got out of the car and opened the door, calling out, âMr. Richardson.â
Curtis pocketed his phone and looked up.
On this significant day, his first words were, âAll the other women are made of water, but Leanne, sheâs made of ice.â
Caleb was taken aback, speechless.
Curtis looked up at the cloudy sky, feeling like heâs been chasing his tail, lost in a merry-go-round with no exit in sight.
Leanne was like that perfectly smooth egg, impossible to get a grip on. Just when he thought heâd found a crack, she sealed it back up.
Caleb asked, âSo, how did you manage to woo your lady in the past?â
âBack then?â Curtis settled into the car, his expression softening at the thought.
âShe used to be much more approachable. Cold, yes, but not bristling with defenses, not poking me unexpectedly. I just had to warm her up slowly. Her shell was hard, but inside,
she was soft.â
Caleb ventured further, âSo where did all these defenses come from?â
The softness on Curtisâ face vanished like mist, his gaze turning cold, his tone dark, âYou
sure know how to hit where it hurts.â
Caleb cleared his throat, looking away, âSorry for that.â
A couple of days later, Leanne got a call from Dr. Yates.
âLeanne, I have some wonderful news. The donor has managed to arrange for Jada to be treated by specialists in Emberland. Theyâre planning to send her over for treatment.â

âReally?â Leanne was surprised and then remembered Curtis mentioning âgood newsâ that day. So, it was about Jada.
âEverythingâs been arranged for them. Theyâll be taken care of once they arrive, no need to worry about a thing.â
Dr. Yates was genuinely moved, âIn all my years, Iâve never encountered such generosity. Not only offering financial support but also taking a personal interest in Jadaâs case as if she were his own. Itâs incredible how different people can be.â
He was clearly delighted, his words tumbling out faster than Leanne could respond.
âThey are so lucky to have met him. Itâs like their fortunes have turned.â
Curtis, a generous soul? The same man who had a sick child peeled oranges for him.
âYes, very fortunate,â Leanne agreed.
âBy the way,â Dr. Yates transitioned, âthis generous man wants to meet Jadaâs primary doctor to understand her condition better, considering the long journey ahead.
âMeet me?â
It seemed this was his plan.
Leanne explained, âBelindaâs condition requires a corneal transplant, which flying wonât affect. However, her viral keratitis is somewhat contagious, so she should be careful when interacting with others.â
Dr. Yates thought she was hesitant.
âDonât worry. Iâll be there too, and I heard heâs bringing his wife along. His support for them was inspired by his wifeâs kindness. After learning about their situation, she wanted to help, but her work made it difficult for her to be involved directly. So, he stepped in. Their good fortune is all thanks to his wife.â
As the wife in question, Leanne was at a loss for words.
Dr. Yates continued, âHis intention is just to understand Belindaâs condition better, to ensure everything is set for their treatment abroad. Itâs all for their benefit.â
With that, Leanne couldnât refuse.
She sighed, âWhen?â
âYouâre off on Saturday, right?â Dr. Yates asked, âHeâs booked solid, so weâre bending over
backwards to fit him in. Iâm trading my graveyard shift that day.â
Leanne had just finished a night shift on Friday and planned to rest before heading to the address Dr. Yates had given her.
Meeting Dr. Yates at the entrance, they entered together.

Alpine Elegance was more than a restaurant, it was a secluded garden oasis in the midst of a bustling city. Upon announcing their arrival, a graceful hostess in a chic dress guided
them through, separating the urban exterior from the tranquil interior.
