Chapter 160
Hold My Tear, I’m Getting My Wife Back! ( Leanne Castillo )
Chapter 160
Curtisâ eyes were hard and unyielding, âJeremy I know what youâre up to, and itâs not your place to meddle in my affairs with her.â
Jeremy hesitated, but ultimately didnât budge, âIâm not trying to meddle. Curtis, if sheâs not willing, you shouldnât be forcing her.â
The normally unflappable Curtis actually paused at his words.
âIâm not forcing her,â he said, looking at Leanne âLeanne, just hear me out.â
âI donât want to.â Leanne didnât even glance his way, and with that, she turned and walked
away.
Curtis stood there, watching her leave without a backward glance, her retreating figure a stark symbol of his defeat.
Her lack of trust and outright resistance left him feeling a profound sense of frustration. It was like when he tried to make a name for ElitePinnacle amidst the squeeze of the top investment banks, struggling every single day like walking on a knifeâs edge, fighting against time, facing the threat of bankruptcy and the humiliation of fleeing back home. Never had he felt so helpless.
But this was a situation of his own making; he couldnât blame anyone else.
Jeremy walked Leanne to the entrance of the spa, where a long corridor separated the
menâs and womenâs sections.
Leanne, lost in thought, took a couple of steps inside before she remembered Jeremy still there and turned back to say, âThanks.â
Jeremy started to say something but stopped himself, âNo problem.â
Leanne nodded and continued on her way.
She couldnât fathom the meaning behind Curtisâ words. He was someone who never bothered to lie-out of disdain and lack of necessity. Nothing in this world required Mr. Curtis to go to the trouble of fabricating a lie.
If it was a lie, what was he after? If it was the truth, then what did the past three years
mean?

Her thoughts were more muddled than murky waters, but she didnât want to think about it. anymore, didnât want to let Curtis trouble her mind.
The privacy in the spa was excellent. She found the room where Joy and Selina were waiting, and when she entered, surprisingly, they were both still dressed, sitting opposite each other on the edge of the pool, sweating from the heat, their robes wrapped around them like armor, eyeing each other warily.

Joy asked, âWhy arenât you stripping? I want to see those abs youâve been working on.â
Selina replied, âHow could I upstage you? Youâre older, you go first.â
Joy scoffed, âSince when do you respect me so much?â
Selina snorted, âJust now.â
Leanne slipped into the water, lost in thought.
Noticing her demeanor, the two quickly shed their robes and prepared to join her. They glanced at each otherâs figures and then exchanged a look.
Joyâs face turned sheepish, âI went overboard with the dieting, then binged on a cheese pizza, had a milkshake, and even a slice of cake, not to mention the midnight barbecue.â
Selina sighed, âFigures. Iâve been posing for the same workout photo every day since day
one.â
Joy snorted, âYou think I didnât notice? You changed outfits to fake progress, but you forgot the timestamps on your photos, dummy!â
Selina rolled her eyes at her, ââ¦Damn.â
Leanne burst into laughter, her spirits lifting, âGreat, so in the end, the only person you fooled was me, huh?â
With these two around, Leanneâs mood quickly improved. After soaking in the taking a shower, the trio headed to the buffet.

Joy, unable to resist her cravings, asked the kitchen to make her a pizza.
As she went to collect her pizza, Leanne soon heard her arguing with Devin.
Joy was fuming as someone had snatched her long-awaited treat, âI ordered that pizza, why the hell are you eating it?!â
Devin said casually, âOn come on, just a pizza.â
Skyler tried to mediate, âIf you want a pizza, Iâll ask the kitchen to make you another one.â
Grace chimed in, âLet the girl have it, Devin. Stop fighting.â
Devin was about to respond when Joy raised a hand, âHey, letâs get something straight. This isnât about âletting the girl have itâ as if Iâm in the wrong here. You donât need to let me have anything; whatâs mine is mine, and if itâs not mine, I wouldnât take it even if you were on your knees begging me to!â
