Chapter 152
Hold My Tear, I’m Getting My Wife Back! ( Leanne Castillo )
Chapter 152
Leanne e was ready to hit the road Friday night, but a last-minute emergency patient came in, and she was called in to assist.
Joy and Selina didnât hesitate. They went straight to her house, packed her bags, and drove to the hospital to pick her up.
As Leanne climbed into the car, Selina craned her neck and batted her eyelashes. âJeremyâs caught up in a meeting but will catch up later. Say it if you donât want him there, and Iâll tell him to buzz off.â
âDo I look like the tyrant of Stonebridge?â Leanne sighed. âHeâs coming to support his friend. Why should I interfere?â
âGirl,â Selina said, her voice dripping with earnestness, âpeople as kind-hearted as your often end up being used. But since heâs my brother, Iâll zip it.â
Joy rolled her eyes. âDo you even know what âzipping itâ means? Itâs quite literal. Close your mouth, and donât let those words slip out. Not âsay your piece and then add âIâll zip itâ as a closing number.â
Selina clung to Leanneâs arm with mock indignation. âLeanne, sheâs bullying me again.â
Leanne crossed her arms. âOh please, you girls are not twelve years old. Cut me some slack, okay?â
Selina was speechless.
Graceâs Hot Spring Hotel was at the base of Echo Summit.
As they arrived, Leanne couldnât help but look up at the majestic mountain.
The evening sun cast a golden glow over the slopes, contrasting with the shadow-covere snow that refused to melt.
âLost in thought?â Selina nudged.
Leanneâs gaze returned to the present. âJust thinking the cooling-off period is almost.
over.â
Soon, sheâd be officially divorced.
Selina mock-celebrated with a fist pump. âCongrats, girl!â
Leanne replied, âThanks.â
A bellhop hurried over to assist with their luggage, pushing a cart through a garden that looked like something out of an Eastern postcard, complete with a dusting of snow along the paths.

The trio entered the courtyard, where Joy teased the good-looking, fresh-faced bellhop.
âWhoa, with looks like that, are you sure this place is above board?â
The bellhop quickly reassured her. âMaâam, our hotel is strictly professional. None of those shenanigans, I promise.â
Joy feigned disappointment. âWell, thatâs a bummer.â
She exchanged a knowing look with Selina, and they snickered mischievously.
âJeez, you think this is some gigolo joint?â A familiar, carefree voice interrupted. âThe kidâs not even of age.â
That voiceâ¦
Leanne turned to see several figures standing beneath the porch of the hotel, designed with a rich Kyoto aesthetic. The center figure stood out in casual attire, a relaxed departure from his usual business formality, as he looked over leisurely.
Devin glanced around. âWhereâs security when you need them? Theyâre letting all sorts of riffraff in here.â
âHow did you⦠guys,â Joy folded her arms, âMy luckâs really in the dumps today.â
That was the last thing Leanne wanted, speaking of a run-in with the past.
Hands in his pockets as if by chance, Curtis drawled, âWhat a happy coincidence.â
Leanne frowned, slightly repulsed, thinking, âCoincidence? My foot.â
âCoincidence, my ass,â Devin started, only to get cut off by a swift kick to the rear.
Curtis shot him a fleeting glare. âCanât you ever just shut it?â
Devin shut his mouth.
âArenât you supposed to be in Kostter this weekend?â Leanne inquired.
âPlans changed,â Curtis replied with a sidelong glance. âYou keeping tabs on me? Has Caleb been leaking info?â
She didnât give it a shit.
Leanne countered, âYour scheduleâs no secret. Itâs public knowledge.â
Curtis scoffed. âThen how is it you had no idea Iâd be here?â
Leanne fell silent.
Just then, more people arrived. Grace and Suzan walked in, joining the growing group.
