Chapter 585 - The Exam Starts Now

Someone bumped into Feng Wu and almost pushed her out of the line.

Mr Lu noticed Feng Wu when he turned to look that way.

He heaved a sigh of relief when he recognized her.

Before, he actually had no idea when to start the exam, but as soon as he spotted Feng Wu, Mr Lu knew that he could make the announcement now.

Mr Lu waved his hand. “We can proceed with the exam now. Line up for inspection. The exam starts in an hour.”

He turned to leave after another wave of his hand.

What a day... Now, he had to go to court to explain everything to His Majesty. Delaying the national exam was too big a deal even for the head of Imperial College to do without a good reason.

At that thought, Mr Lu gave Feng Wu an aggrieved look for the third time today.

“Duan Chaoge, why are you here?!”

There came a shrill voice.

Feng Wu was looking for Chaoge herself. Hearing that voice, she immediately rushed in that direction.

Holding two sets of stationery in her hands, Chaoge was glaring at someone opposite her.

And they were people Feng Wu had met recently: Chaoge’s two elder half-sisters Duan Chaoyin and Duan Chaoyue.

What had happened to Chaoge? She used to be such a dumb girl and never talked back. All she did was try to fight back physically, but she wasn’t their match and would always end up miserable. But now —

Just then, Feng Wu arrived at Chaoge’s side.

Hearing that voice, Chaoge turned around and spotted Feng Wu. She was over the moon!

“Xiao Wu! Xiao Wu!!!” Chaoge jumped at Feng Wu and flung her arms around the latter. “Xiao Wu, you’re finally back. Sob — I woke up this morning to find the window open, but you were nowhere to be seen. I was so worried!”

“Are you here alone?”

“No, everyone is here and they’re out looking for you. Uncle Qiu said that I would be late for the exam if we waited for you at home, so we all came here to look for you. You’re really here, sob —”

Chaoge was so glib and quick to react when Duan Chaoyin and Duan Chaoyue gave her attitude, but she was almost in tears when she finally saw Feng Wu. Her biggest fear was finally gone.

“Silly girl.” Feng Wu rubbed her head.

Just then, they heard a contemptuous voice.

“Xiao Wu? As in Feng Wu?” Duan Chaoyin snickered. She then scrutinized Feng Wu with a smirk on her face.
