Chapter 635
Billionaire’s Missing Darling
Kelly went to the restaurant and ordered a few light dishes. Then, she sat in his seat and read the script.
Just as she was reading it carefully, a surprised voice came from the side. âKelly? Why are you here?â
Brenda walked over and glanced at Kelly before her eyes landed on the script.
Brenda found that the plot looked a little familiar.
Brenda frowned and was about to take a closer look.
Kelly said happily, âBrenda, why are you here? Are you here to see me?â
Brenda was slightly uncomfortable with Kellyâs enthusiasm, but she didnât show it. âI have something to do here.â
âOh, I see.â Kelly nodded and asked, âHave you eaten? The dishes here taste good.â
Brenda shook her head. Her heart was filled with anxiety. She had been at the hotel for a day but had yet to find a way to see Sawyer. How could she have the mood to eat?
âI still have something to do. Enjoy yourself.â Brenda refused. âMy assistant will come over later. We have something to discuss.â
Kelly nodded and looked worried. âYouâre not in good health. Remember to eat your meals on time.â
With that, she closed the script and prepared to leave.
âWhatâs this?â Brenda suddenly reached out her right hand and pressed down on Kellyâs script. She scanned the words on it, and her expression suddenly turned cold. She questioned bluntly, âKelly, how can you read my script!â
Brenda was so angry that her hands were trembling. The scripts in the production team had always been a secret, especially in a big production team like Sawyerâs. She heard that some actors could not even get the complete script and only knew their own lines.
This was a script that Brendaâs assistant had spent a lot of effort and connections to get. But Kelly actually made a copy without even informing her.
The more Brenda thought about it, the angrier she became. âYouâre just like your dead mother!â she cursed inwardly. âAlways liked to take other peopleâs things!â
âGive my script back!â Brenda snatched it away angrily. âWho asked you to take it? This is Mr. Lesterâs script. Just read your own script. Donât take something that doesnât belong to you!â
At this point, Brenda realized that her tone was a little harsh.
Although Jan had already left and was very likely to give up on Kelly, it was not confirmed yet. Brenda did not want to fall out with Kelly so quickly.
She softened her tone and lectured Kelly earnestly. âKelly, donât blame me for being too fierce, Iâm doing this for your own good. This contents of this script canât be leaked. Just read your own script.
This is Mr. Lesterâs script. All the actors in it are superstars.
âDonât blame me for being harsh. With the Collins familyâs current status, they canât let you into the production team.
âLastly, let me remind you not to be too ambitious. You have to be downâtoâearth and achieve your goal one step at a time.â
Kelly was confused. She tilted her head and looked at Brenda for a long time before explaining.
âBrenda, did you misunderstand something? This is my script!â
âYouâre still lying!â Brenda was furious. She looked at Kelly with disgust.
With a cold expression, Brenda said angrily, âDonât blame me for not reminding you. Mr. Lester isnât an ordinary director. Heâs also an investor. If you leak the contents of the script, he might sue you.â
With that, Brenda left without looking back.
Kelly stood rooted to the ground in a daze. After a long while, she sighed softly.
Indeed, family members who had never interacted with each other were not trustworthy enough.
Kelly found it ridiculous that Brenda would misunderstand her over such a small matter.
âForget it, she said to herself. Tâll explain it to her when weâre familiar with each other.ââ
Kelly did not take this misunderstanding to heart at all. She had always been magnanimous and did not care about trivial matters. Only Olivia would affect her emotions.
Although Kelly also valued kinship and the Collins family, she had only interacted with them for a short time and did not have much feelings for them. Therefore, she didnât feel frustrated at all.
Carrying the packed food, she turned around and walked toward the elevator.
Brenda rushed out of the restaurant angrily and met the panting assistant at the entrance of the hotel.
âWhat took you so long?â Brenda was unhappy. It was almost nighttime.
The assistant was a little fat. He ran over and panted for a long time before explaining, âMs. Collins, itâs too difficult to find Mr. Lesterâs production teamâs information. I used almost all my connections and even my personal connections to get a brief script.â
With that, he handed over the threeâpage script.
âWhatâs this? A script?â Brenda was puzzled. âDidnât you send the script over long ago?â
âNo.â The assistant was dumbfounded.
Brendaâs temples throbbed. She felt that she had neglected something.
She handed the thick script to her assistant. âIsnât this the script you got?â
The assistant flipped through it and his eyes widened. âMs. Collins, this is a confidential script, right?
Itâs so detailed. I think only the director and a few main leads have it. How can I get it? Youâre overestimating me!â
âThen, this scriptâ¦â At this point, Brenda suddenly bit her lower lip and ran into the restaurant to look for Kelly.
But Kelly was not in the restaurant.
Brenda stopped a waiter and asked anxiously, âWhereâs the girl who was sitting here just now?â
âAre you asking about Miss Sebastian?â
âYes, where did she go?â
The waiter replied politely, âMiss Sebastian has packed the food. She should have returned to her room.â
âWhereâs her room? What number?â
âIâm sorry, maâam, but we canât give away information about our guests. You can contact her by phone.â
âYes!â Brenda murmured inwardly. âI can call her!â
Kelly received a call from Brenda as soon as she arrived at her room. She placed the food on the dining table and turned to Ian. âMr. Walter, wait for me for a while. Iâll make a call and then open the takeaway boxes for you.â
lan would never do such greasy work. He was obsessed with cleanliness. Previously, when they were together, he did not even eat fish because he found it disgusting to spit out bones.
Not only did he not want to eat fish, but he also did not allow her to eat it.
Sometimes, when Kelly thought about the time she had spent with Ian, she didnât even know how she survived.
She walked to the bathroom and answered the call. âHello, Brenda.â
âKelly.â Brenda sounded anxious. âWhich room are you in?â
âYouâre coming?â Kelly frowned. After all, Jan was still in the room.
She didnât reply to Brenda immediately. Instead, she blocked her phone and stuck her head out to ask Ian, âMr. Walter, Brenda is coming over. I need to go out for a while.â
âGet her over here.â
âReally?â Kelly was shocked. She was already numb to Ianâs attitude.
Ian had indeed changed a lot. He actually allowed strangers to enter his room.
âThank you, Mr. Walter,â Kelly thanked him happily and told Brenda the room number.
After the call, Kelly washed her hands and prepared to open the takeaway boxes. However, when she arrived, she saw that the dining table was filled with food.
Ian actually opened the boxes himself.
âWhatâs going on here?â she wondered.
Kelly looked up.
Ian raised his eyebrows and waved at her. âCome over quickly. The food is getting cold.â
Kelly sat next to Jan at the dining table and asked curiously, âMr. Walter, arenât you a clean freak?â
Upon hearing this, Ianâs expression darkened, revealing a hint of helplessness and sadness. âActually, Iâm not a clean freak. I just hope that I can behave better so that my father will like me.â
At this point, he smiled selfâdeprecatingly. âUnfortunately, no matter what I do, he hates me.â
Kelly was so sorry to hear that.
She felt extremely sorry for lan. She did not expect his mysophobia to have such a reason. It was her fault for despising him.
