His Ex wife is a billionaire Chapter 87
His Ex wife is a billionaire (Evadne and Thaddeus) Novel Full Episode
Chapter 87
The door was open. With a swiftness that suggested he was afraid Evadne might change her mind, Jareth sl*pped inside.
âMs. llana, coming over to your place is always like going through a battlefield. So tough!â
He took in the sight of the woman under the light. Wearing a robe that highlighted her curvaceous figure. Her cheeks glowed with a delicate softness that was incredibly attractive.
Jareth couldnât help but swallow.
âMr. Jareth, your gaze appears to be a bit inappropriate.â Jason remarked coldly.
âEveryone appreciates beauty. Iâm just admiring a work of art, and not harboring any ill intentions.â Jareth laughed it off.
His explanation was so ridiculous it was laughable.
âSo, is this Blancheâs masterpiece?â Evadne asked, staring at the box in his arms.
âYep, bought two. One for Thadâs grandpa, and the other is especially for you.â
Jarethâs eyes were brimming with excitement. âIlana, Blancheâs works are handcrafted. Only ten pieces are sold each year. Theyâre really precious, you know?â
Evadne cleared her throat. âHave you eaten? Care to join me if you havenât?â
âHavenât! Iâve been waiting outside your hotel since five. Iâm so hungry my stomachâs practically touching my back!â Jarethâs voice was shaking with anticipation.
Jason rolled his eyes. Jarethâs laid-back demeanor was enough to make anyone roll their eyes.
Jason, go to the kitchen and make Mr. Jareth a bowl of spaghetti Bolognese.â As she took the box, Evadne instructed him while heading to the living room.
âIt seems Mr. Jareth believes our hospitality has been lacking.â Jason saw his chance. âIndeed, our food might not meet your standards. You might not be used to our cooking.â âNo! Who said that? Donât make things up! Iâll eat!â
Jareth felt a sudden pang in his chest as if a firework had just exploded in his mind.
As Jason prepared the meal, Evadne and Jareth sat in the living room admiring Blancheâs work. She held a crystal-clear fan in her hand. The fan was fully opened, resembling a water fountain. The sculpture was carved from a single piece of white crystal, giving the static sculpture a lively beauty.
âWowâ¦so beautifulâ¦â Evadne couldnât help but exclaim, feeling as if her soul was purified. She carefully lifted the fan from its stand.
In an instant, Jarethâs eyes widened. Her delicate hands were even more beautiful than the meticulously crafted sculpture, making the crystal fan seem dull in comparison.
âIlana, do you like it?â Jareth looked at her, head tilted.
âAbsolutely, I admire this artistâs work. Itâs truly astonishing.â Joy radiated from Evadneâs face.
âI like it tooâ¦â
âThank you, Mr. Jareth. Youâre really thoughtful.â Evadneâs expression turned serious. âBut I canât just take it. You must have put a lot of effort into getting this piece. Give me a price, and Iâll buy it.â
âIlana, Iâll be heartbroken if you talk about money.â Jareth touched his chest.
âIâve always loved this artistâs work. I was planning to go abroad this year to buy one but didnât have the time. Your gift is really thoughtful. So, letâs strike a deal. Iâll buy it, and you wonât feel your efforts were wasted. Both of us will be satisfied.â
Evadne smiled. âBesides, I donât like owing anyone anything.â
âNo can doâ¦I wonât take the money!â
âThen name your condition. As long as I can fulfill it, Iâm all ears.â
Jareth was delighted to hear this, grinning widely, and then he leaned towards Evadne. âNext week is Grandpaâs birthday. Could you come with me?â
âChoose something else.â
âDidnât you just agree?â Jareth furrowed his brows, looking anxious.
âI really canât.â
Evadne looked at him seriously. âIâve already promised Mr. Hamilton that Iâll accompany him as his granddaughter-in-law for his birthday. After this birthday, Iâll have no ties with the Abernathy family. If I appear at the banquet with another man, I think Iâll make Mr. Hamilton uncomfortable. I just want to spend his birthday happily with him. After all, in the future⦠I wonât have much time to accompany him.â
A trace of worry flashed in her eyes.
âIlana, youâre a good person. Thad was too blind to let you go.â Jareth sighed. But he quickly realized that if his friend hadnât been blind, he wouldnât have had the chance to meet such a wonderful woman like Evadne.
âSo, name another condition.â Evadne gently touched the fan, looking pleased with it.
âWell, could you maybe stop calling me Mr. Jareth and use something more friendly?â Jareth looked at her earnestly.
âJust like that? I rarely agree to such requests.â
âIâm more than happy that youâre staying for dinner!â Jareth gazed at her deeply, seizing every opportunity to express his affection.
âCould I call you Jareth from now on?â Evadne asked.
âYes, yes, yes! Just call me Jareth!â Jarethâs heart raced with joy.
He felt their relationship had taken a step forward. To him, the name âJarethâ was equivalent to âdear.â
âMiss, the spaghetti Bolognese is ready.â
Jason came over wearing an apron. He was very gentle towards Evadne but not so much with Jareth. âHis bowl is also ready. I added chili.â
Hope Jareth couldnât handle it!

Chapter 87
âIlana, is it really convenient to have a male housekeeper? We have a maid whoâs been working for us for 15 years. Sheâs very diligent and cooks well, I grew up eating her food. Would you like me to introduce her to you?â Jareth looked at Jason smugly.
Jason was so angry he crumpled his apron!
Jareth thought to himself, âYouâre just an a**istant, and youâre already acting all high and mighty in front of me? Thatâs way out of line!â
âJason and I have grown up together.. Thereâs no way Iâd let him go.â Evadneâs gaze turned slightly gloomy, and her voice became cold. âMr. Jareth, didnât your family recently take over the pipe selling business? Seems like you have quite a lot on your plate.â
Jason felt warm inside, Ms. Ilana was definitely on his side!
Jareth was about to blow up, his heart aching. So this male nanny had actually grown up with Ilana! Cas sius didnât immediately kick this man out but let him stay by his womanâs side. Was he trying to show how broad-minded he was?
âYou go wait for me in the dining room, and Iâll come down as soon as Iâve put away these things.â Evadne put the artwork back into the box and happily went upstairs with the gift.
Watching the womanâs light steps, like a butterfly dancing, Jareth felt very pleased and couldnât help but take out his phone to snap a picture of her retreating figure. Just a casual snap, and it had the aesthetic sense of a top-tier artwork.
At this moment, a message popped up on the phone screen. Thaddeus was in a bad mood, asking him out for a drink. Jarethâs vanity suddenly flared up, and he sent the photo he had just taken to Thaddeus.
Two seconds later. Thaddeus called.
âHello?â Jareth turned around to answer the call, lowering his voice.
Thaddeusâ voice was cold, like it was coming from hell, âAre you with Ilana at this time?â
âNot only am I with Ilana, Iâm at her place.â Jareth was clearly getting carried away.
âWhere does she live?!â Thaddeus growled quietly.
âYou wouldnât even know where your ex-wife lives, would you? I canât tell you, itâs obvious she doesnât want you to disturb her.â
âJareth, Iâll ask you again. Where does Ilana live?â Thaddeusâ tone was full of threats.
âHa haâ¦â Jareth couldnât help but laugh out loud. âIâm not telling you!â
