His Ex wife is a billionaire Chapter 765
His Ex wife is a billionaire (Evadne and Thaddeus) Novel Full Episode
Chapter 765
âCanât even handle this simple task? There goes your bonus, huh?â Thadâs temples throbbed with barely contained fury.
âThad, donât panic. Letâs just take it slow,â Evadne said; her voice was calm in the storm.
âGlynnis left the hospital that day, and I had my guys tail her. They saw her being pulled into a white Bentley. She stayed in there for quite a while!â
Evadne felt a wave of unease wash over her.
Thadâs voice was icy cold. âWhere did the car take her?â
âNowhere special. It parked for a bit and then dropped her back off at her apartment. She didnât leave the place for three days, not even taking out the trash. Thatâs when my guys got suspicious; we broke in, only to find sheâd vanished without packing a single suitcase!â
âHow about her passport and ID?â Evadne pressed.
âGone too! Itâs like she disappeared into thin air!â
Gordonâs voice cracked with desperation, âI had people watching the airport. She has no money, no passport, no ID. Where could she possibly run to? She canât just stow away on a ship!â
âSomeone must have noted that white Bentleyâs plate number. Text it to me. Iâll have my brother check it out.â
Evadne gripped his hand firmly. âThis isnât as straightforward as it seems. It must be someone whoâs pulling the strings behind the scenes that helped Glynnis escape.
Thad, keep a close eye on Elmsworth for the next few days. I have a hunch Glynnis will try to make her way back there!â
Their fingers intertwined tightly. âIf she comes back, sheâs signing her own death warrant.â
âMaybe not this time.â
Evadneâs heart clenched as she analyzed the situation. âThe fact that she left everything behind tells me whoeverâs behind this is powerful enough to get her back to Elmsworth without a passport and without being detected. Think hard, Thad. Who could do that and would want to help Glynnis?â
Thadâs brooding gaze flickered with a complex emotion.
When he looked back at Evadne, she beat him to the punch, âCould it be your brother, Chad?â
His grip on her hand tightened ever so slightly.
Because the name she uttered was the very one heâd been considering.
âMiss, could it be Snakey Averyâs handiwork? Heâs got the means,â Jason threw another name into the hat.
Evadne shook her head slightly. âThink about it, Jason. With Snakey Averyâs cunning, would he not foresee that weâd have Glynnis under 24/7 surveillance here? Weâve got his number; he wouldnât dare intervene so blatantly. No, whoeverâs helping her is counting on us not being familiar with them, which would make it hard for us to trace them. Thatâs why I suspect Chad might be involved. Though I canât fathom his motives, I canât think of anyone else with the resources to pull this off.â
âIf I were my brother, logically, I wouldnât lift a finger to help Glynnis. First, I have no sibling affection for her, so I donât need to trouble myself; second, with the Elspeth branch down, one less family member is a boon for the remaining Abernathys.â
Thad closed his eyes, taking a deep breath to calm the turmoil within. âBut Evadne, your analysis makes sense If it was Chad, weâre momentarily powerless. Our best move is to capture Glynnis and interrogate her thoroughly before we make our next move.â

Chapter 765
Evadne pursed her lips, feeling an indescribable oppression.
Like him, she didnât want to believe that Chad could be a monster like Avery, especially since Chad had once been Thadâs most trusted brother and his savior.
Thadâs life was a tapestry of pain and disappointment.
She too hoped that this time his trust would not be betrayed.
The following day, Mrs. Fairhaven arrived at the hospital with Edith and a selection of carefully chosen gifts.
The atmosphere in the room was as frosty as an ice cellar.
Gary leaned against the headboard; his pale face was twisted with venom as he glared at the Mrs. Fairhaven and April.
Edithâs gaze lingered on his empty sleeve; her designer dress was soaked with cold sweat.
âSis! What kind of son have you raised? A monster! An ingrate!â April wailed, clutching at Mrs. Fairhavenâs collar in a frenzy, as if she was ready to fight to the death. âGary is Jarethâs own uncle! Even if there were past issues, it didnât warrant such cruelty! Why didnât he just kill my man?!â
Edith, frozen in shock, couldnât even move to defend her mother.
Mrs. Fairhaven, a woman of genteel upbringing, had never seen such a scene; with her hair disheveled, she broke into tears.
âI donât care! What good are your apologies?â
Gary clutched his empty sleeve, his features twisting into something grotesque. âUnless you chop off Jarethâs arm and give it to me, nothing you do will make up for it!â
âDad! Jarethâs turned Gary into a cripple and took away all his shares! Why havenât you dealt with that scourge yet? Isnât Gary your own flesh and blood?!â Aprilâs grief was palpable as she demanded answers.
âEnough! Shut it!â Barry finally roared, which silenced the room immediately.
April quieted down, standing aside and wiping away her tears.
âDad. I really donât know anything about what Jareth is up to outside.â
Mrs. Fairhaven, tearâstained and distraught, kept apologizing to the second branch of the family, âGary, April. Iâm so sorry. Iâll cover all Garyâs medical expenses.â
âSorry. What use is that?â
Barry clenched his jaw, and blurted with a mix of fury and resignation in his voice. âHeâs made his bed, now he has to lie in it! I told him not to push his luck with that Abernathy girl, but he was hellâbent on doing things his way, and he ended up crossing Jareth big time. He didnât show Jareth an ounce of mercy first. Look where that got him. What does he expect me to do now? Can I knock off Jareth to make amends? Or maybe wave a magic wand and make his arm grow back?!â
