His Ex wife is a billionaire Chapter 64
His Ex wife is a billionaire (Evadne and Thaddeus) Novel Full Episode
Chapter 64
Evadne tossed and turned that night, unable to catch a wink of sleep. Every time she closed her eyes, Thaddeusâ handsome face hijacked her thoughts, making her heart race and her temperature rise. It was as if she could still feel his warm hand gripping her waist tightly, sending her emotions into overdrive.
Suddenly sitting upright in bed, she was drenched in sweat, her breath ragged and cheeks flushed. They were divorced, yet the man who could still stir such intense emotions inside her was Thaddeus!
After managing to sna tch about two hours of sleep, Evadne got out of bed and paddled a kayak for an hour to calm her mind.
Breakfast was prepared by Jason.
Looking gloomy throughout the meal, she bit into her toast and fried eggs with force and chu gged her coffee.
âAre you upset about Bess, Ms. Evadne?â Jason, ever the gentleman, gently wiped off crumbs and stains from her fingers.
âI hate losing.â Evadne replied, her eyes closed, not voicing her real concern â she hated being controlled by Thaddeus, even more!
âAnd what about the Glynnis situation?â Jason inquired.
âGive me some time to think. We need to deal with this before the buzz dies down.â As soon as she finished, her phone lying on the table buzzed. It was Emeric!
âEmeric, whatâs up?â Evadne picked up the call, her voice tense.
âHey, chill. Iâm still kicking!â Emeric retorted.
âWhen are you coming home? Your aunts want to throw a party for you.â
âA party?â Evadne was puzzled.
âYouâre all over the news and TikTok. Youâre being called the most beautiful angel, isnât it?â
Evadne cringed at the mention of it.
âTheyâre really proud of you and want to celebrate.â
She was still worried about being exposed, and now they wanted to throw a party for her? Ridiculous!
âI donât need it. Iâm trying to play down the situation. I donât like being in the spotlight. It attracts trouble.â
âUngrateful girl. They miss you every day, and I havenât seen you in ages. Canât you come home for a meal?â Emeric sounded disappointed.
âAlright⦠Iâll come once Iâm done with my stuff,â Evadne replied.
âBy the way.â Emericâs tone turned serious. âIs that debt collector, Elvis, back?â
âYes,â Evadne admitted.
âHmm, if it werenât for your brother, Iâd have planned a funeral for him.â Emeric was clearly angry. âWhen you come home, bring him too. If he doesnât, Iâll disown him. Heâs not welcome here anymore!â
After the call ended, Evadne seemed troubled. She reached into Jasonâs pocket, grabbed a chocolate bar, and took a bite.
âWhatâs wrong, Miss?â Jason asked worriedly.
âDad wants me to bring Elvis home for dinner.â
âAhâ¦â Jason understood the predicament considering Elvisâ personality.
âDadâs temper is short, and so is Elvisâ. They canât get along!â
Evadne savored the chocolate, her anxiety slightly pacified. âI know Elvis. Heâll listen to me about everything except meeting Dad. Heâs stubborn. I canât force him. Iâll need to use my wits.â
After getting ready, Evadne headed to work. As soon as her Bugatti left the hotel, she saw a swarm of reporters outside. Frowning, Evadne had Jason call the front desk for an update.
âTheyâre here to interview the âangel girlâ. I donât know how they found out sheâs our employee, soâ¦â
Evadneâs eyes darkened. She hated being in the spotlight. âIs there no news left to report that theyâre making a big deal out of this?â
Evadne sighed, âWell, this hype is temporary, and Iâve already asked my brother to downplay the news. Iâm sure itâll die down soon. Letâs go through the back door.â
Once at the back door of the hotel, Evadne asked Jason to park the car. She was ready to take the private elevator to her office on the top floor.
As she walked, she was scrolling through the hotelâs Twitter feed. She was surprised to see the tidal wave of comments under every post due to the âangel girlâ effect.
âNext time, Iâm staying at a K Group hotel! The staff is so professional!â
âThat girl is so pretty⦠Can we get a clear front-facing picture?â
âThe K Group is trustworthy, unlike the Abernathy Group⦠When will they give us an explanation about bullying their staff?â
A sly grin appeared on Evadneâs face. Though she preferred a low profile, she couldnât deny the free publicity and the benefits it brought to the hotel. But with the Bess situation still unresolved, she couldnât help feeling uneasy.
Suddenly, Evadneâs brows furrowed as she sensed a manâs presence behind her, too close for comfort. And right at that moment, the guyâs hand was already on her shoulder.
Evadneâs eyes shot open, and she spun around, throwing the coffee in her hand right in the guyâs face!
âAaah!â
In the next second, she grabbed his firm arm and brought him down to the ground in a flash!
âAaah!â
This burly guy was easily taken down by Evadne.
âCr apâ¦â
Evadne took a closer look and gasped, âJareth?! Itâs you?!â

âCough coughâ¦da mnâ¦youâre toughâ¦â
Jareth was lying on the ground in agony, unsure if he should laugh or cry. He said, âThe charm of a beautiful woman is like honey on a knifeâs edgeâ¦so dangerous yet so sweetâ¦cough, cough, cough!â
âWhy did you sneak up on me like that? It was a subconscious self-defense move, you didnât give me any warning and just came close all of a sudden.â Feeling embarra**ed, Evadne squatted down to check his condition. She looked serious, like a professional doctor. Her hands carefully inspected Jarethâs b*dy, showing more skill than even a professional ma**eur.
Jareth closed his eyes, enjoying the moment, gazing at her intensely. He thought, âThaddeus, you really donât know how to appreciate what you have! Such a beautiful woman right in front of you, and you donât appreciate her! Well, donât blame me for seizing the opportunity!â
âItâs okay, your b*dyâs fine, no fractures.â Evadne breathed a sigh of relief, patting Jarethâs leg. âItâs not that easy to make me feel guilty, you know. Get up.â
âI want to get up, but I really canât.â Jareth made a pain-stricken face. âIâm not fractured, but it really hurts, itâs numbing my limbs! Can you help me up? Please!â Feeling a bit awkward, Evadne could only extend her hand to help Jareth up.
Feeling her b*dy against his, his heart started racing, and he couldnât help but lean towards her. Usually, it was the girls who approached him, and he had never had an experience like this.
âHey, Evadne, we just had a little physical contact, howâd it feel?â Jareth asked, raising an eyebrow.
âPhysical contact? Ha, now I finally know whatâs wrong with you, itâs your brain.â Evadne scoffed, âIf you had an extra eye, I might have been interested in looking at you more, but as an ordinary man, whatâs there to interest me? Besides, itâs not like I havenât been with men with better bodies than yoursâ¦â
The moment she said these words, she realized something and blushed. The image in her mind was of Thaddeusâ muscular chest and perfect lines. His sweaty b*dy, the ultimate exposure, and the pa**ionâ¦
They only had one time together, but it was an unforgettable one.
Jareth knew who she was talking about, and a wave of jealousy washed over him. His eyes showed a competitive desire, and he suddenly pushed Evadne against the wall, his captivating gaze wandering over her face. He slowly approached her, his tone becoming deeper. âWhoâs better than me? Thaddeus?â
Jareth looked at her with a smile. âThere are a lot of things you havenât tried with me, how do you know Iâm not better than him?â
This pose was really the stuff of daydreams.
