His Ex wife is a billionaire Chapter 35
His Ex wife is a billionaire (Evadne and Thaddeus) Novel Full Episode
Chapter 35
Evadne lost interest in going to the hotel and decided to head home instead.
After a long silence, Jason finally couldnât hold back his curiosity, âMs. Evadne, does Thaddeus know that youâre the princess of the Ashbourne family?â
âYes,â Evadne replied quietly, her face blank.
Jason came to a sudden realization. No wonder she had sent a substitute to meet Thaddeus the last time he visited. It all made sense now.
âJason, I didnât mean to hide it from youâ¦â
âI understand.â
Evadne looked at him in surprise.
âWho wants to talk about their heartbreak? Naturally, everyone wants to bury it deep in their heart. Iâm just worried about you, worried that Chairman Emeric would be hurt and upset if he knew about this.â Jasonâs hand was tightly gripping the steering wheel, his eyes glistening with tears.
This was the princess their family dearly loved, and she was being treated so poorly by that jerk Thaddeus. If Chairman Emeric found out about this, he would probably be furious.
âThe longer itâs kept a secret, the better. Iâve been through a failed marriage, and now I just want to live alone. I donât want to get married again.â
Evadne closed her eyes. Thaddeusâ hurtful words were flooding her mind. She laughed lightly. âHow boring.â
âIf youâre not getting married, then I wonât either,â Jason stated seriously.
âNo, no, no⦠get married when you want to. Youâre my secretary, not a monk. Donât let people think that working for me means staying single; that would ruin my reputation.â Evadne quickly waved him off.
Jason chuckled awkwardly, his heart heavy with sadness. He knew he wasnât worthy. But he was willing to silently guard the light in his heart. âMs. Evadne, why⦠why did you marry Thaddeus?â
Evadneâs eyes were half-closed, and her expression was calm but filled with complex emotions.
âIâve overstepped. I wonât ask anymore.â
âWhen I was eleven, I participated in a mountaineering activity organized by my school. I lost a sapphire pendant, a keepsake from my mother, on the mountain.
âDespite the teacherâs warnings, I went up the mountain alone to find the pendant. I walked the same path over and over again, but I couldnât find it. I ended up getting lost and was caught in a severe hurricane. I was trapped in the deep mountains with no cell signal. I nearly lost my life.
âAt that time, Thaddeus was working as a forest ranger in a national park. He braved the harsh weather, led a team up the mountain to find me, and finally found me behind a huge rock. I was almost frozenâ¦â
Evadne gently recounted the unforgettable experience.
âWhen I opened my eyes, I saw Thaddeus in his mountaineering gear. His handsome face was wet, and his beautiful eyes shimmered with light, even more beautiful than the starry sky. I was truly captivated by himâ¦â
ââThank goodness, youâre okay! Donât be scared, Iâll take you down the mountain!â
That encounter made Evadne deeply attached to Thaddeus, an attachment she couldnât forget.
âOn our way home, he carried me on his back the whole time. He was afraid that I would fall asleep, so he kept telling me some funny jokes, even though his jokes werenât very funny,â Evadne recalled calmly, a small smile playing on her l*ps.
ââLittle girl, whatâs your name?â
ââWonât tell me? Then Iâll call you Ilana. Youâve got such a small b*dy, small mouth, and small noseâ¦â
ââI-Iâm not small! I grow faster than other girls!â
ââLittle girl, you just need to tell me this. Donât tell other boys.â
ââWhy?â
ââIâm afraid some bad boys will take advantage of you, silly,â
Evadneâs breathing became slightly erratic, her heart pounding. Thaddeus was only seventeen that year. He wasnât as tall and sturdy as he was now, but he gave her an irreplaceable sense of security. Later, they almost fell off a cliff. But Thaddeus protected her in his arms, risking his own life for hers. Then, Thaddeus disappeared from her life for three years. The next time she saw him was on TV; he was attending a charity event with the Abernathy family.
Since then, Evadne embarked on her journey of âseeking the lightâ. When she heard that he had gone to the battlefield, she decided to become a member of Doctors Without Borders, just to be able to fight alongside him in a place he couldnât see.
The pain of the past changed into the despair of the present; she couldnât love anymore. Evadne gave a bitter smile. So even a thirteen-year infatuation could fade.
Jason quietly listened to her story, feeling shocked and regretful.
âBut Jason, I canât bring myself to hate him.â Evadne reached out her hand, feeling the wind sl*p through her fingers, just like the love she couldnât grasp.
âEverything I did for Thaddeus was voluntary. I have no regrets about what I did. Iâm thankful for our encounter. I donât think thereâs any debt between us.â
Thaddeus was in a daze on his way back to Windermere Estate. His head was buzzing like it was filled with a thousand flies. He felt a suffocating pressure on his chest, making it hard for him to breathe. Evadneâs final look of disappointment and anger kept flashing before his eyes as if they were enemies.
Why did he feel such an emptiness in his heart? It was as if he had lost something very important.
As soon as Thaddeus walked into his study, Alva followed him in, looking a bit unhappy.
âSir, Ms. Acaciaâs car has arrived downstairs. You should go greet her.â
âIâm not going.â
Alva was taken aback. What on earth was going on with him?
âI know why sheâs here.â
Thaddeus slumped on the sofa, his eyes slightly vacant. âGo tell her, if sheâs here for Ives, she doesnât need to bother. The Stirling family must be in chaos right now. She should go back and spend more time with her parents. Iâll see her in a few days.â
*If she insists on not leavingâ¦â
âWhatever, let her be.â Thaddeus took a deep breath, rubbing his aching temples.
The phrase âgood for nothing ex-husbandâ kept echoing in his mind. Da mn it! How did he become good for nothing?
How would she know he was useless?
Alva chuckled in reply, secretly admiring Thaddeus in her heart, quickly leaving the study.
Thaddeus furrowed his brows. It seems Alva truly despised Acacia from the bottom of her heart. As if it was Christmas, she was thrilled at the thought of kicking someone out.
Alva arrived outside the villa, standing on the steps, quietly watching the anxious Acacia.
âThaddeus said heâs done dealing with you. Stop waiting, go home.â
âI want to see Thad!â
Acacia tried to force her way in. But she was no match for the sturdy Alva. With just a slight push from Alva, she ended up sitting on the ground.
âWhat! Youâ¦you pushed me! Iâm Thadâs fiancée! Iâm his future wife! Iâll be your boss! How dare you disrespect me?!â Acacia sat on the ground in shame and anger, pointing at Alva. âIâm gonna tell Thad you bullied me! Iâll get you fired!â
âFuture lady of the house, why not wait until youâre actually Thaddeusâ wife to flaunt it. Plus, even if you do marry Thaddeus, Iâll never acknowledge you. In my heart, thereâs only one Mrs. Thaddeus, and thatâs Ms. Ilana. Even though theyâre separated now, sheâs still the only one I accept. Everyone else? Please step aside.â
âYou!â Acacia was so angry her face changed color.
âMs. Acacia, if you want to sue me, go right ahead. If you can actually get me fired, Iâd thank you. I was thinking about retiring anyway. It would be a perfect chance.â
Alva really hoped Thaddeus could see Acacia in her true colors. Was this the gentle, harmless Ms. Acacia from before?
âThad! You have to help me! You canât ignore me!â Acacia gave up arguing with Alva and started crying on the ground. This scene was like a criminal begging for mercy.
Thaddeus didnât respond, and Acacia started calling for others.
*Help me!â
âStop yelling, Mr. Frederic and his wife took the girls to have dinner with Mr. Hamilton, they havenât returned.â
âThen Iâll wait here until Thad sees me!â
Alva glanced at the cloudy sky, âLooks like itâs gonna rain. I gotta go get the laundry. You can keep yelling.â Having said that, Alva left her outside the villa and specifically told the ser vants not to let Acacia in under any circumstances.
After shouting for a long while, Acacia was h oar se, but Thaddeus was still nowhere in sight.
Her face turned pale, her heart anxious. She felt that Thaddeus had changed and become more elusive. In the past, no matter how busy he was, he would drop everything to see her; whenever she cried, he would do anything to cheer her up. He bought her luxury cars and jewelry. He never hesitated to spend money just to make her happy. But now, why was it so difficult to even see him?
Before long, the cloudy sky started pouring, and the rain kept getting heavier.
Acacia decided to take extreme measures. She deliberately didnât take shelter but chose to kneel outside. She was soaked to the bone, shivering, looking miserable. âThadâ¦â¦ let me see youâ¦â¦â
âOnly a fool would fall for such a low trick!â Alva, who was watching this scene, remarked sarcastically.
Suddenly, she heard footsteps behind her. Turning around, she saw Thaddeus with a furrowed brow, heading towards the entrance.
