Edith was at a loss for words, a bead of sweat trickling down her forehead.

This stupid Glynnis, she had actually dragged Evadne into this. She must be determined to make a clean break with her!

“Elspeth, what do you think this place is? A place for you to yell and scream?”

A chilling voice suddenly echoed, piercing through Glynnis’s chest like a sharp sword!

One could see Jareth’s deep eyes, a smirk playing on his l*ps as he walked in from the entrance with a swagger.

“It doesn’t matter if you guys don’t care about your image, just don’t tarnish the Fairhaven family’s prestige.”

“Mr. Jareth!” The butler and the servants all greeted him with a bow.

“Jareth!” Edith, seeing her savior, immediately put on a teary–eyed damsel–in–distress act.

Jareth had always despised Glynnis, and had been extremely indulgent towards Edith since they were children. He would definitely side with Edith without knowing the full story!

Edith ran into Jareth’s arms, clinging tightly to his waist, “Jareth. I know I was wrong! You told me not to hang out with Glynnis, but I didn’t listen. Now, I’m paying the price for it. I won’t be headstrong anymore, I’ll listen to you!”

“Edith, is what Glynnis said true?”

Jareth’s penetrating gaze fixed on Edith, his voice tense with suppressed emotion, “The person who created the fake jewelry behind the scenes, trying to frame Ms. Evadne, was it you?”

“No! It wasn’t me! It was all Glynnis’s idea!” Edith turned pale, shaking her head hurriedly.

“Stop lying, Edith!”

Glynnis pointed accusingly at Edith’s feigned innocent face, her eyes reddened with rage, “The man who forged the jewelry is Alea’s apprentice, and he’s from Aetheria! Even if I wanted to get a counterfeit, I could only find someone locally due to the urgency, how could I possibly find someone in Aetheria? Edith’s face turned red with anger, “Elspeth! I respect you as an elder. How can you slander me?”
