She thought that it was Heather who had come to pick her up, but she didn’t see her getting out to open the door for her. So, she knew Brendan had come to get her himself.

Naomi opened the passenger side door and sat down with a smile. “Did you come straight from the airport?”

He pinched her face with his right hand and made her look at the front. “Are you even a woman?”

Naomi replied, “Why don’t you check when we get back?”
