The photographer captured the beautiful scene, a memory to be cherished forever.
Time flew.
Sixteen years later.
Westchester.
At a nightclub in a college town.
Caprice held a bottle of beer and took occasional sips from it. She wore a neat red dress that
accentuated her waistline, her natural locks of curly hair were very eye-catching.
Even though she was seated in a remote corner, it did not dissuade flocks of men from coming up to her to strike up a
conversation.
She did not entertain any of them.
Some of the men had a foul temper but knew better than to voice their frustrations since Caprice was with her friends. They
retreated, hanging their heads low in defeat.
Three of Capriceâs housemates came drinking with her.
They were the ones who did her makeup for her.
Today was her birthday, so they decided to come here for a celebration.
Celebrating her birthday was the primary objective. The secondary objective was to find a man for her.
âCaprice, what's the matter with you? Some of them were pretty handsome, why wouldnât you at least try to talk to them?â the
short-haired Lana asked, her voice tinged with curiosity.
âYeah, if | didnât have a boyfriend already, I'd have chosen one of them easily. Arenât you interested at all?â Freya was the one
with an hourglass figure. She was baffled by Capriceâs lack of interest.
Freya suddenly exclaimed dramatically, âCaprice, you're not into girls, are you?â
Immediately after raising the question, both she and Lana shrunk away from Caprice.
As if they were afraid that Caprice would confess her affection for them.
Caprice took another sip of beer and looked sullen. It did not seem like she was in the mood for banter.
Freya and Lana were very puzzled. They darted looks at Piper who was sitting on the other side of Caprice.
Piper and Caprice had known each other for more than a decade. They both hailed from Glanchester and came to Westchester
University to study together. They pretty much grew up together.
Piper sighed and assured them. âSheâs straight, you two are safe.â
âThen why isnât she looking for a boyfriend?â Lana asked in a puzzled tone.
Piper glanced at Caprice and said, âShe doesnât want to, she must've someone on her mind already.â
However, it seemed to her that this certain someone did not reciprocate her feelings.
Freya and Lana exchanged a look, then they asked Piper, âWho's this mysterious man?â
Caprice returned from her state of trance and frowned irritably.
Piper immediately deflected. âI donât know either, | was just guessing.â
She had promised Caprice not to spill her secret.
Although Freya and Lana were good friends, they were not to be trusted with keeping secrets. If they knew that Caprice had
been secretly in love with the eldest son of her parent's friends, it might complicate situations going forward.
Freya and Lana bought Piperâs lie, and they turned their attention back to Caprice.
Freya probed, âCaprice, who is it? Just between me and you, | know a lot of people in Westchester. Just say the name of this
mysterious man and | promise you Iâll do everything in my power to set you two up together!â
Lana chimed in. âThat's right, it doesnât even matter if he has a girlfriend, we can fix that for you!â
Caprice made a look, then she craned the bottle of beer at a vertical degree and finished the whole thing. in one smooth motion.
Freya and Lana were speechless.
Piper was just as baffled.
Caprice was usually well-behaved and reserved. This was the first time they had ever seen her downing beers like this.
Freya was immediately alarmed and hurriedly stopped Caprice. âCaprice, Iâm so sorry if we said something that upset you. Look,
if youâre sad you can tell us! Donât drink yourself to death.â
âThatâs right, Caprice, stop drinking please âLana tried to help as well.
It seemed like Caprice had filtered out their voices completely. As soon as she finished the first bottle, she reached for another
one.
