Chapter 1811
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1811
The response came in the form of dollar bills swishing in through the gap underneath the door.
Isabel's eyes glowed like someone had switched a light on, and she turned to Flint.
Flint immediately got on his knees and began collecting every bill he could get his hands on, swiftly tucking them into his pouch
all the while.
Sherry watched them with great amusement.
Sylvia spectated with intrigue as well.
An endless torrent of dollar bills came sliding in underneath the door.
Flint had his hands full in no time.
Isabel crossed her arms and stood her ground.
Soon, they heard Johnâs voice again. âDo you know who | am now?â
Flint answered while scrambling on the floor, âI do now, | do now.â
âWill you open the door for me now?â John asked.
Isabel stood her ground. âUncle John, Iâm nothing like Flint, you wonât win me over with just money.â
Flint suddenly declared boldly while still picking up one dollar bill after another, âYes, thatâs right!â
John laughed heartily. âHow can | get you to open the door?â
âHmm... I'll have to think about it.â Isabel thought long and hard.
Sylvia gave her a look, hinting that it was about time to stop toying with John and let him into the room.
It had been a long time since Sherry last met Isabel and Flint. She knew that these two children were very tenacious and not to
be messed with. She wagered that they were going to have their fill of fun with John before they let him in.
Sherry smiled faintly and approached Caprice.
She was the one most dear to John, so it was time for her to say something.
She looked around and finally spotted Caprice seated on the couch with Liam.
Liam was spinning a six-by-six Rubikâs cube. It looked like he was performing for her.
Caprice leaned against his shoulder, the image of Liam was reflected in her pupils.
She barely even noticed what was happening with her father.
Sherry made a look.
She was just about to tell her to save her father from his predicament when Isabel suddenly had a bright idea. She spoke out
loud so John could hear from the other side, âUncle John, I'll let you in if you answer just one question.â
John smirked. âGo ahead.â
Isabel cocked an eyebrow. âWho is prettier? My mommy or Aunt Sherry?â
Figures of question marke popped up on top of both Sherryâs and Sylviaâs heads.
There was a stiff silence on the other end of the door.
Isabel smirked. She knew she had put John in a tough spot. âUncle John, why are you so quiet?â
Sylvia pursed her lips.
Naturally, the answer was going to be Sherry for John. However, he should know that the answer Isabel must be expecting was
her mother, Sylvia.
There was no winning for John in this situation!
Despite the unfair circumstances, Sherry was curious about what his answer would be.
She pricked up her ears and waited for an answer.
She was aware that Isabel had laid a trap for John. Still, if he dared to even insinuate that it was Sylvia who was prettier, she was
going to let him have it!
The silence lingered for a while until at one point, a manâs voice rang out. âYour mother is prettier.â
This voice... Odell?
Asecond later, another voice spoke, âMy wife is prettier.â
The latter voice was Johnâs.
Isabel was flabbergasted.
Sylvia laughed.
Sherry could not help but grin at Johnâs mischievous display of wit.
Flint was still busy snatching dollar bills from the floor. He murmured, âYes, thatâs right!â
âYou big dummy!â Isabel shot a look at Flint, then she yelled at Odell who was helping John, âDad, | was asking Uncle John, not
you!â
John bantered with her. âYou never specified that | was the only one who could answer.â
Isabel puffed up her cheeks in rage. âYou guys are cheating, this answer doesnât count!â
John suddenly called out, âCaprice.â
Caprice suddenly turned away from Liam and stared at the door.
