Chapter 1741
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1741
Sherry said, âThank you, Lisa. Iâm fine. She didnât touch me.â
Lisa sighed a breath of relief. She added, âI'll definitely make this right for you.â
She was furious. Aiden had hired thugs to harm Sherry and got arrested for his crime, yet Anne was trying to give Sherry a tough
time?
Lisa was not a weak and helpless woman!
Sherry pursed her lips. âItâs fine, Lisa. Iâm okay.â
Anne stopped Sherry in front of the office just to give her a hard time. Had John not arrived in time, Sherry would have been
slapped and insulted in front of the public. It would definitely have caused a series of unhappy events.
Anne was a major shareholder in the company, but she was not working there. She had Madam Sager and some other old folks
support, so Lisa could not do anything to her either.
If Lisa was correct, Anne probably came here because Ron instigated her to. Since she had no way
to deal with Ron at the moment, giving Anne a hard time would be meaningless.
Lisa sighed out of guilt. She looked at John and said, âMaster Stockton, thank you.â
John smiled at her. âMrs. Sager, you are being too kind. Sherry is my wife. Of course, Iâd save her.â
Lisaâs smile froze for a moment. âI... You're right.â
Sherry intervened in a timely manner and said, âItâs okay now. Go back to the car and take care of Caprice.â
John smiled at her. âOkay. Caprice and | will come to pick you up at night.â
Sherry wanted to reject him, but he already left before she could say so, thus she was forced to swallow her words.
Before John got into the car, he had a glance at Carl who was standing further away.
Sherry could hear Capriceâs voice calling John when he got in. She wondered if the girl saw her and Anne earlier. Fortunately,
even if the girl saw it, John could probably explain the situation in an understandable manner.
The car left.
Sherry pulled her attention back and said to Lisa, âLet's go in.â
Lisa had been paying attention to Sherryâs expression. She simply hummed a reply and subtly sighed before going into the office
with Sherry.
The space outside the building soon returned to normal, leaving Carl alone petrified by the road. He watched as Sherry and Lisa
went inside. His brows furrowed and his hands clenched.
John had saved her again.
The car cruised smoothly on the freeway.
Caprice was strapped in the baby seat when she asked, âDaddy, why did the bad woman want to hit Mommy?â
Her brows furrowed. Her usual adorable look was replaced by an angry expression as if she was
an angry puppy.
John said, âBecause that woman has some opinion about your Mommy.â
Caprice grunted as she crossed her arms. She grumbled, âI donât like her.â If she was not strapped to the baby seat, she would
have run down and hit the woman.
John chuckled. âDonât be angry, Caprice. Daddy will teach her a lesson.â
He ought to make Anne realize the consequences of giving a hard time to Sherry in public and refusing to apologize for her
actions.
Caprice nodded in agreement. She grumbled, âDaddy, teach her a lesson! Donât let her bully Mommy again.â
John nodded. âAlright. Daddy promises you.â
The girlâs expression then returned to normal.
