Chapter 1308
Substitute Marriage: Falling For My Ugly Wife
This is all your fault. My relationship with Judie is hanging by a thread now. Your words embarrassed
me, and itâs even more infuriating when you flaunt your close bond with Millie in front of me.â
Mylo, although saying this, actually felt a twinge of guilt. He shouldnât have slandered Marcus, it
undeniably crossed moral boundaries.
In his entire life, he had never committed such an immoral act.
âWho started by slandering me? You can joke with me, but you wonât succeed in making Millie
unhappy.â
Mylo said with a shrug, âI was just joking to lighten the mood.â
But Marcusâs gaze remained frosty.
âItâs not a joke if it upsets her.â
Mylo couldnât believe this was the same Marcus who had shown little interest in women before getting
married.

âYouâd move heaven and earth for her, wouldnât you?â
Marcus put out his cigarette and shot Mylo a stern look.
âIf thatâs what she Likes, why not? As for your situation, donât try to keep it from Judie. Everyone knows
about your past. If you two want to be together, sheâll have to accept it.â
Mylo ran his hand through his hair. When he thought back on his past romantic experiences, he
couldnât help but feel disheartened.
âTo be honest, Iâm genuinely committed this time. Ever since I met her, I havenât been interested in
other women at all. You have no idea how devoted I am to her. I drop her off at work, pick her up
afterward, and reply to her messages within seconds. Even when Iâm in the shower, I respond to her
immediately. Can you believe it? The only womanâs phone number on my phone is my motherâs. Iâve
never been this infatuated with a woman.â
Mylo kicked the nearby pillar in frustration.
âLook at her now. How could she get upset with me? Iâve never been bothered that she had a crush on
Bruce before.â
After pouring out his thoughts, Mylo felt like a failure but couldnât help his continuing affection for Judie.
Marcus turned to gaze at the pool and gave Myloâs shoulder a friendly pat.
âExplain it to Millie when the time is right. Iâve never been to those places.â
Mylo questioned, âWill she believe it?â
He was uncertain. At this point, it seemed unlikely that Millie would want anything to do with him. He
had truly angered her, primarily out of jealousy.
Marcus raised an eyebrow with an implicit warning.
âIf she doesnât believe it, what do you suggest we do?â
It was evident that Marcus was implying that if Millie didnât forgive him, Mylo might face a harsh
consequence.
Returning to the pool area, the passing womenâs attention was drawn to the two handsome men with
model-like figures, but neither Marcus nor Mylo paid them any heed.
