Chapter 1267
Substitute Marriage: Falling For My Ugly Wife
Within five minutes, every bit of news about Shera on the Internet was wiped out.
Looking at the mess that had become his room, Marcus crushed the white medicine box in his hand
and groaned, âUseless medicine! Why do I even take this trash?â
The bottle gave way under the pressure of his hand, and the white pills in it fell to the floor.
Trenton walked out in silence. Downstairs, he ordered the servant to clean Marcusâ room before he left.
He had to handle some things in the company. As he drove out of the villa, he brushed past another car
coming in.
Seeing Trentonâs car coming towards her, Shera looked away before he saw her. Marcus hadnât shown
up at work for two days and only worked at home. She guessed that something was wrong with him.
When she arrived at the entrance of Cloud Villa, Shera used Celesteâs name for the servant to let her
in.
âWhere is Mr. Thomas?â she asked the servant.

âHe is resting in his bedroom. Will you wait for him to wake up?â
Shera looked towards the staircase with a frown. It wasnât dark yet.
Why was he sleeping?
It was always like this. After an episode, Marcus was always very weak and needed to sleep.
âIâll just go upstairs and have a look.â
The servant shook her head and stopped her.
âThat wonât be such a good idea, Miss Evans. Mr. Thomas is sleeping.â
Shera mentally rolled her eyes and said, âJust go ahead with your work. Iâll take responsibility for
anything that happens.â
With that, she went upstairs. Marcusâ door was ajar. Shera gently pushed the door and walked in. He
was indeed sleeping, but the frown on his face indicated that it wasnât a very good sleep.
Shera reached out her hand and was about to touch his handsome face.
She stopped herself in time and just stared at the face.
She promised herself that this man was going to be hers no matter what.
Marcus slowly opened his eyes when the sun was setting. Shera was sitting beside the bed, watching
him tenderly.
âYou are awake,â she said softly.
Marcus sat up and asked coldly, âWho let you in?â
âI went to the welfare house in the day and learned about the situation there. I came to report the work
to you.â
