Chapter 1142
Substitute Marriage: Falling For My Ugly Wife
Observing the situation from afar, Dottie approached Millie and noticed that the latter was holding a cup
of coffee.
âDo you think you can win?â Dottie whispered to Millie.
Millie nodded and was about to flip through a jewelry magazine.
Dottie brought over a stack of documents, crouched down, and pressed her palms together in a
pleading gesture.
âCould you do me a favor? I really donât want to work overtime today.
Iâve been working extra hours lately, and Iâm worried about having a heart attack. This is the clientâs
request. Can you design it based on their specifications?â
âOf course. Iâll take care of it,â Millie responded cheerfully.
Dottie was elated that she agreed.
âYouâre a saint. Iâll bring you some delicious food tomorrow.â
Dottie was shocked at how fast Millie was able to create designs.
Two hours later, Millie completed the design for a brooch, a tie clip, and two rings. She promptly sent
the design drafts to the clients, who were thoroughly pleased with the results.
Dottieâs admiration for Millie grew even more, regarding her as nothing short of a goddess.
Upon seeing Dottieâs admiring gaze, Millie simply smiled.

Designing the unicorn jewelry had taken Millie an extended period of time. Amidst various unexpected
interruptions, finding the necessary focus for her work was a challenge.
Additionally, Dottieâs design task hadnât proven to be particularly demanding. It was, in fact, quite
effortless for Millie.
As the workday drew to a close, Dottie stretched and sighed with relief.
âWell, I can finally head home earlier.â
Emerie shot Dottie a stern look, prompting the latter to freeze in place.
Dottie winked at Millie and whispered, âLetâs leave together.â
Millie cast a glance at Emerie and responded, âYou go ahead. I still have some tasks to wrap up.â
Her palm still ached, and the back of her head was still throbbing.
Millie wasnât about to let Emerie off the hook so easily.
After all, who knew what difficulties Emerie might create for her tomorrow if she didnât address this
situation today?
âWell, alright then. And by the way, thank you for assisting me with the design today.â
