Chapter 1141
Substitute Marriage: Falling For My Ugly Wife
The people in the office immediately pricked their ears, eager to catch every word of the discourse.
Millie furrowed her brow. You havenât upheld your previous bet. If you want to wager again, you must
honor the last bet.
With a calmer expression, she responded, âSure, but if you lose, you need to fulfill your promise. There
are many witnesses here.â
âAbsolutely, Iâll uphold my end,â Nancy retorted with a confident smirk.
âHereâs the bet: The loser leaves the Thomas Group.â
Millie raised an eyebrow and agreed, âFine.â
Her swift acceptance surprised Nancy. She squinted, as if attempting to discern Millieâs intentions. This
time, however, Millie wasnât planning to lose.
âLetâs add another condition. If you lose, youâll need to crawl out of this building. Of course, you can
propose an additional condition as well.â
Everyone was dumbfounded. Crawling out of the company would be utterly humiliating.
Nancyâs aim was clear. She wanted to strip Millie of her dignity entirely.
After taking a look around, Millie gestured towards a nearby bucket of water, stating, âAlright, letâs add
this: If you lose, youâll have to drink up the contents of that bucket of dirty water.â
Nancy glanced at the bucket, which had been brought in by the cleaning lady earlier. She hesitated for
a moment.
âAgreed. But donât forget your terms either. You canât back out.â
Angelaâs Library
Nancy was certain she wouldnât lose, so she readily accepted.
The cleaning lady found their exchange quite amusing.
âIn that case, Iâll leave the bucket right here and wait for the outcome of your bet.â
Nancy shot a piercing look at the cleaning lady. Did that lady think she would lose?
Caught off guard by Nancyâs glare, the cleaning lady quickly averted her gaze and resumed her work.
Nancy left the large office with an expression of confidence, her brisk steps reflecting her belief in
victory.
Millie settled into her seat.
âSo, who do you think will come out on top?â
While placing documents on the table with a thud, Emerie turned to the gossipers.
âYou two, over there! Have you finished working on your designs?â
The two gossipers suddenly fell silent.
